[Raised as a thief, Rikku had a keen eye for seeing people picking pockets. She'd been watching him out of the corner of her eye for a minute or two, and was actually impressed with this technique. But he looked really out-of-place for the City, so she could only assume that he was a new arrival. Well, she was just the person to roll out the welcome wagon. Putting a smile on, Rikku smoothed her dress down and started towards him, more or less set on a collision course.]

I AM SO SORRY THIS IS LATE /tears soloisms June 27 2011, 07:21:59 UTC
[Han couldn't steal from a teenage kid, well not a kid that didn't meet his income bracket anyway. Rikku wasn't even someone he had considered pickpocketing, she was completely and utterly invisible to him for the moment. Putting his hard earnings into his special pocket, Han had no idea about what was going to happen.]

it is okay! chrysophilist June 27 2011, 17:48:54 UTC
[The blonde ran straight into him, her hands nonchalantly bracing against his cheat so she wouldn't completely fall. She could practically sense where he was stashing his loot.]

Oh! Shiva, I'm so sorry, cfaadc! Are you okay?

[he could appreciate another thief in his midst.] Yeah, I'm fine. You should watch where you're going.

[Jack is -- presumably, heading back from some one of those random bar-hopper's homes. Unfortunately, he was not blessed with any cool super-powers like flying, so he's walking. He is in the process of inspecting his comm for new updates, and practically bumps into Han as he's doing so. This is why you should not text and walk, guys!]

[A good thing that Han wasn't alone. For a moment, though Han would deny it, Han would be walking around looking up at people and watching them fly. Not that he was envious, but for someone who flew a spaceship around, maybe flight itself would have been a pretty neat power to have. No that he was bitter - wait.

Unluckily for Jack, this was not one of those times that Han was gazing upwards, but rather pickpocketing.]

Hey, watch where you're going. You could really offend someone like that.

[Jack just gives him an amused look.]

Maybe, or I could get a decent date and night out of it, too. Sorry about that.

You don't look like the type I could get a decent date and night out of, though, unless I'm mistaken. So are you really offended? Should we duel or something?

[just a look.] Sorry bub, I don't get courted by being bumped into. [Han isn't too sure that this guy would survive. He did have a tendency to shoot first.]

[Julian is out doing what he guesses passes for patrolling. Hey, if he's supposed to be playing the superhero act here, you can bet he's gonna do it. So far he's a little solitary with it, though, so for once he's getting among the people instead of flying. Besides, this version of New York is different enough from the version he knows that he needs to get used to how it's laid out, and it's probably about time he stopped avoiding the ground level. He notices Han skulking around mainly because he's on the lookout for anyone who looks a little suspicious. Which is actually most people in the City, but whatever. He'll just stick close for a while, try and allay those suspicions a little.]

[A space smuggler roaming around in tight pants with a blaster holster without a blaster? And what's more, he's bumping into people? They never said that Han was subtle for a reason.

What was it with people and flimsy pieces of paper, what happened to good old credits? Not credit cards - which confused Han even more, but he was a smart guy, he'd figure it out. Eventually.]

[Julian watches this for a while to be sure of what he’s seeing. The guy could just be really uncoordinated, or drunk. Doesn’t seem that way, though. Seems more deliberate than that. And when he notices a few of those people who’ve been bumped into feeling for their wallets a few minutes later, he decides he can’t leave it any more. Don’t worry, people of the City. Hellion is on the job. He approaches Captain Tightpants.]

Hello, sir? You seem a little lost. Is there a direction I can point you in? Like the police station for example?

[Han figured that there would always be these types. Sadly for him, he didn't have a blaster - so he'd have to talk his way out. Arms spread wide, as if he was offended that it was a crime to bump into people.]

Hey, I'm new to this galaxy. Someone should have warned me that it was a crime to bump into people. Maybe then I wouldn't have offended their sensibilities.

Mokuba was getting good at conning out new imPorts. There was just something that was recognizable about how they looked around nervously and seemed out of place. After a while it was very easy to pick out.

So, the man who was obviously trying not to be noticed was very noticeable. [Truth be told, even if he hadn't been an import, acting sneaky made someone noticeable.]

"Welcome to the City," he said, standing outside arm's reach. He was naive, but not stupid.

Damn kids, why did they always seem to want to find him and talk to him. Did he look busy? No, of course he didn't. If he had, he would have been arrested already.

"Yeah, thanks kid. Now beat it, I'm busy sightseeing."

Terrible excuse, but he's looking for someone rich (though if he met the other Kaiba brother, he would have been more careless and bumped into him.]

Mokuba giggled, glad his English was good enough.

"There aren't many sights to see here."

"Yeah, I figured. Doesn't help that I'm not from around these parts in the first place." Please fall for it kid, please do.

Ned was on his way to his new pie shop to set up and start getting ready for the grand opening when he spotted someone who looked strangely familiar. Recalling that he wouldn't have found his space without the help of Peter and Damian, he realized the responsibility fell to him to ask the familiar looking stranger if he was new or lost, or both. Ned didn't know the city well yet, but he couldn't pass a man who was so obviously out of sorts ( ... )

What in the name of a Wookie's backside was pie? Han just found himself standing outside of it, looking at the sign trying to figure out what sort of food that was in the first place. Rather than actually acknowledging that there was someone inside, Han just made a face and tried to walk by.

That was when he heard Ned clear his throat. Han walked back just to said what (not who, but it was a force of habit) had made the noise before asking him so many questions.

"Out of my element?" Out of his galaxy, more like. "That's an understatement, for sure. I'm just trying to find my way to a spaceport or a way to get out of here."

A lot of people tended not to look at him. Though, through experience it usually meant that he was about to get shot or that someone had been pissed off and they sent a messenger to do the dirty work. Never once did he consider that it was because he had a huge Wookie behind him.

"I think everyone is their first week," he managed, though the rest of Han's speech was catching up. Spaceport. He suddenly knew where he had seen the man before and he tried desperately not to let the excitement show on his face. Superheroes and jedi? Maybe this place wasn't so bad. "Th-though I'm barely into my s-second."

He had to remind himself to get a grip, tilting his head as he tried to come up with a better way to explain to the other man what had happened. "I'm afraid there's no way home." Ned grimaced, floundering for more words. "You're... stuck here until the porter decides otherwise."

Technically not a Jedi, a point that he would emphatically make if it were ever brought to his face. But, facial expressions weren't lost on Han, he'd been on the other side of the law too long for him not to notice when someone got excited; reading pokerfaces got him the Falcon, after all.

Deciding to put the other guy out of his misery and not trying to make him talk more, Han puffed. "Great, just great."
