At eight thirty on the dot, because he's not going to play the "just late enough to be fashionable" game with Carrie and his own home, Tim shows up at the Tower. And... walks into a surprise party, although he was really kind of guessing that this would happen. He wasn't trained by the World's Greatest Detective for nothing.

He does kind of wonder about the Star Trek, though.

Anyway! Birthday boy is in the building and trying to decide if he should grab some cake yet. JUST RIGHT FOR AMBUSHING.

Welp, where there be a Tim ripe for ambushing there shall never be a Dick far behind. Personal space be damned, Tim is getting a hug today. Or possibly something more resembling a sneak-attack wrap-around from behind.

"So you say it's your birthday..."

He should really be used to this kind of thing from Dick by now, but he still spends a moment attempting to flail before he realises who it is that just hugged him from behind and relaxes. He should have known from the fact Dick managed to sneak up on him in the first place.

"Something like that." Dick will just have to hear the smile in his voice.

As long as Tim's willing to tolerate the attention he'll indulge an extra long squeeze before he lets him go. It's not as if the opportunity comes along all the often anymore.

"You know, you could have said something." Not that there was a chance he would have forgotten, but there's a sneaking suspicion that says Tim might have.
