Sanji stood and smoked for a bit, until he came to the end of his cigarette. He crushed the butt against the sole of his shoe and put it away, checking to see how many he had left. Yep, he'd need a new pack at this rate.

"I'm not about to get trapped in this shitty world," he muttered darkly. "But I don't know if anybody else knows this information. It might change the way things are organized...if they are, at all." He shrugged. "I haven't seen much besides our kind just running around the streets beating on anyone who tries to beat them first. Could be different down where the porter-machine building is."

Annabeth spotted Sanji running by as she took a moment to collect herself, sitting in the branches of a tree that was growing out of the sidewalk. She'd been trying to get to the porter building, she certainly wasn't going to sit at home while these lunatics blew up her one chance of getting back to her world anyway, when she'd come upon a group of them that had recognized the discoloration in her hair.

She had no idea how they even knew about that, but she'd beaten them soundly enough. It was just tiring. Her jeans were torn in a couple places, her left sleeve was ripped off and she had half a dozen bruises and cuts. But she'd had far, far worse ( ... )

Sanji blinked at the unexpected help. "A...Annabeth? Oh - you're hurt!"

Yes, the rest of the battle went completely ignored for the moment because a friend, a girl, was hurt. "Are you all right?" he wondered, looking over the cuts and bruises.

Well, she wasn't expecting that sudden concern, and she almost laughed as she nodded. "I've had much worse." She kept her attention on the mob though, and when one of them took a step towards them, one of the girls, she held up her rod menacingly.

"I think we have larger concerns."

"Yeah..." Sanji glanced back at the enemy, instantly wary. "It's a clever enough strategy, but it won't be enough to stop me. I need to get at those other guys, they're the ones that can do some real harm around here."

Annabeth nodded. "I can make these three move," she said, her voice almost pleasant as she stepped forward. She probably didn't look like much, cut up and bruised, and one of the girls made the mistake of thinking she wasn't, stepping forward to swing an almost pathetic punch at her.

Annabeth swung low and hard, and there was a very, very obvious breaking sound as her pipe connected with the girls shin, shattering it. She went down screaming, and Annabeth turned her attention to the other two.

"You should probably run."

For all his strength and manliness, Sanji actually winced at that. So ruthless, yet so effective. He hated to see any girl hurt but...well, he did warn them.

With the girls staring at this interloper who wasn't afraid to beat their asses, Sanji had the opening he needed. He rushed past Annabeth and charged into the pack of guys behind, ducking a fist and spinning a kick into the man's gut. The others swarmed on him, not at all expecting that he could swing his legs in all sorts of directions, nearly straight up at one point. Their resolve waned once each had taken a hit or two, and they broke and started to run. Sanji, however, was not about to let them. "Ohhhh no," he said, "you cowards let ladies be your human shields. I don't let anyone get away with that." He sprang after them, giving chase.

At Camp Half-Blood, they didn't teach the demi-gods how to be nice to their opponents, after all. The faster you stopped something, the less chance it was going to kill you. The girl on the ground kept screaming, and Annabeth stepped around her as she focused on the other two. If she noticed Sanji running towards the other group, she didn't react.

"Two options. You can leave, or you can not leave. It doesn't matter to me," she spun the rod in her hand as she waited. One of them looked at her fallen friend and then turn and ran. The other took a step forward, but when Annabeth raised the metal rod, she turned tail after her friend also.

It was almost a little disappointing, getting worked up for a fight that didn't happen.

Half a block away, Sanji finished off the last of the retreating thugs with a simple Party Table Kick Course, one of his favorite melee moves that only required one big, showy action to take them all out at once. He deliberately stepped on any hands carrying weapons and gave one of them an extra kick in the gut while he lay on the ground to emphasize that he meant business. Then, he strode back to Annabeth, looking suddenly casual and suave with his hands in his pockets and the cigarette smoking from his lips.

"Are you all right, Miss Annabeth? Ahhh..." He looked down pityingly at the girl who had felt his friend's wrath. "I'm sorry, miss, but that's the price of war. Can I help you get back to your car?"

"What? Oh, yeah, I'm fine." She shrugged, glancing down at the woman she'd hobbled as Sanji spoke to her. "She won't be doing much of anything for a while, that's a few months of recovery right there. But really, what were they expecting?"

This last was addressed to Sanji. "How is attacking people with superpowers a good idea?"

Sanji sighed. He'd been thinking the same thing. "Beats the hell out of me. They all act like they know who we are - so they can't possibly be going into this blind and ignorant."

He took the cigarette between slender fingers and breathed deeply, as calm now as he was irate a minute ago. "Though I suppose...that's never stopped people from attacking Luffy before...but that's where we come from, where fighting is expected. Here..." He shrugged and then gestured for Annabeth to come with him, over to the sidewalk. The injured girl didn't want their help, she just gave him a middle finger for his efforts, so he decided to leave her to her friends, whenever they came back. For Sanji's part, he wanted to keep moving, and maybe pick up some just-in-case supplies.

[ You know what sucks? Being denied food and finding some of your favorite eateries closed, and or, having the place busted up. It wasn't hard running around streets for a good number of minutes looking for Sanji. Tired, over and done with the ridiculousness, and worst of all... hungry. ]

Where's Sanji? I don't have time to deal with everyone--OI, GET OUT OF MY WAY!

[ So, once Luffy spotted another 'familiar' spot of blonde in the crowd he starts making his way over. Luffy's run into more crazy looking Sanji wannabes, even if they weren't trying to imitate him on purpose. This time, he'd had enough of punching everyone in his way to move... That block of thugs and the three ladies in front of Sanji? Now passed out on the ground, and even a few foaming at the mouth. A blast of Haki mean serious biznez and a semi-miffed captain get. ]

Oi, Sanji.

[Sanji's probably one of few people who can stand up to a burst of haki, especially if it isn't directed at him]

Huh? Oh, Luffy.

[feh...taking his cigarette from his lips and blowing a stream of smoke]

I whipped up a couple of lunch boxes and left them in the fridge. If you've already eaten those, then you're just going to have to wait. [thumbing over his shoulder] We've got a little bit of a problem here, Luffy.
