For Luck's part, he'd spent much of his time at home reading. He was aware, of course, that it was a way of putting off dealing with matters he still hadn't managed to come to a decision about... but it was a way of filling the time, and in the absence of most of his family, he had a lot of empty time to fill.

That didn't mean, of course, that he wasn't paying attention to what the other occupant of the apartment got up to. Presently he marked his place, closed his book, and came wandering into the kitchen to observe Czeslaw from a short space away with a look of mild interest.

Czes set the booklet aside to frown at the actual chemicals. They were in neatly labeled plastic test tubes.

"No good," he muttered to no one in particular. While it was probably great for teaching kids about science, the contents of the kit were fairly useless for Czes' purposes.

...Still, it might be fun to see how the chemicals reacted to each other.

"Do you think the safety goggles are really necessary?" he asked Luck innocently.

Luck's brows lifted slightly at the question; he wandered a few steps into the room to get a slightly better look at the kit, and considered it thoughtfully for a moment before replying.

"I'd say that's up to you. They're your eyes, after all."

It was hard to get really concerned about it when they'd grow back either way; it came down to the question of whether or not Czeslaw was willing to tolerate the discomfort if something went wrong.

Czes rewarded this logic with a pleased little smile.

"It'd be hard to make anything exciting happen with this pathetic set, anyway. But it's all the clerk at the store would sell me."
