AT THE PARTAY, open! pas_de_ducks October 31 2010, 21:12:05 UTC
Without the assistance of wings or the power of Princess Tutu, Duck felt like she was flying. It had been an excellent performance--she'd thrown herself completely into the role, putting all her energy into making her lines and her one small song clear and full of emotion ( ... )

Fakir had escaped the backstage area as quickly as he could, eager to slip out of his costume and into some normal clothes. In an untucked white shirt and grey slacks, he would attend the party as a tired performer. Everyone else could dress up if they liked.

Still, tired as he was, he felt... excited. He hadn't performed in months, and to have finished a production - especially one so well funded and attended - was exhilarating. Not that anyone who didn't know him well could tell. The slight smile and spring to his step as he wandered the party was a good tip, though.

He paused when he noticed Duck rushing around as she was wont to do, and raised a hand to wave her down. "Hey. Over here."

"Hey, Fakir!" Her grin was huge, shining through her stage makeup. "You did great tonight! And I got you something, too."

"You did well, too," Fakir said, his smile broadening somewhat. "I'm sure next time you won't have to play a maniac. ...What's this about getting me something?"

Aaron had sat through the play, intrigued by the changes that had been made and impressed by the quality of the young performers. He was not usually a patron of such productions, but it was a calm way to spend an evening he would usually avoid.

As such, he was mingling now among the other patrons, noting the decorations, and the excited cast who was returning from the dressing rooms.

Aaron recognized the young performer, and when he came by, Aaron gave a thin lipped smile that didn't show teeth. His Eastern European accent tinted his words, though he was putting in a little more effort tonight, to try and hide it.

"An impressive performance tonight. Congratulations."
