Sanji dropped by early to leave several plates of dessert items for the sale. He knew people in the city were into cupcakes, for some reason, but he went different - unique, and tasty. There were cake-like amaretto bars, flavored chocolate truffles, and almond-raspberry cheesecake bites, everything arranged neatly and garnished with mint leaves or dusted in cocoa powder.

For now, Diana is dressed in a shirt and jeans while they're setting up for the party. She was in the middle of putting up decorations near the ceiling when she sees Sanji, so she floats down to the ground to greet him.

"Those look delicious, Sanji."

He glanced up to see the voice approaching from above - oh heavens! Time for a big stupid grin. "Miss Diana, in the flesh! Ahhh..." Ahem. "I wanted to bake a pie, too, but I didn't have time. I hope these will suffice, for now?"

[Where there is cake, there will be Trowa. Direct him to your finest, my good people. He is very clearly passing over the brownies and other pastry-type objects in his search.]

[Angelica has a table set up near the corner, with an assortment of delights to choose from. She's got chocolates, cupcakes, and, as the centerpiece, the marble "Tiffany" cake she and Felicia had worked on together. Apparently they had a theme picked out.]

[The chocolates and cupcakes get passed over, although he lingers for a minute at the latter--but in the end, it is the large, square masterpiece of baking that he really wants. And look, it even comes in one of his favorite colors.]

That one?

[He points at the "Tiffany" cake, then looks at her curiously.]

[Being one of the hostesses, Diana is everywhere in this party, talking to this group and that, and making sure to approach those who look a bit uncomfortable and/or lonely. She is dressed up as Morticia Addams, complete with the dark makeup and looking deliciously evil.]

Something like that. [She glances at his costume.] You're dressing up as...Zatanna?

He came out of curiosity, if nothing else. Perhaps a tiny desire - well hidden - to see people again. He wore his Imperial uniform, the Pour le Merite at his throat. Not as a costume, but just because it was done. He was who he was, and he tried not to let his civilian outfits be seen too often. It was easier to blend in that way.

But he simply stood for a while in the entrance, hands in his pockets. It was...good to see people. Civilians, unterrified. Not hurrying from shelter to shelter to avoid the fire from the sky. There were no air raid sirens. It was, in many ways, paradise.

A bake sale.

Mein gott, how long since I have seen baked goods? Since before Leningrad, surely...

And the hard face smiled.

Now, that was interesting.

He was sure he'd spoken to the fellow before, upon his first arrival. Kurt remembered easily those of his own heritage and, if he remembered correctly, Herr Von Hammer was not only German, but Bavarian. At least... He could remember mention of Bavaria.

"Herr Von Hammer," he greeted cheerfully, dressed in some silly, swashbuckling amalgam and determined to be positively social. He extended his hand in a friendly manner. "I hope I am not mistaken. Kurt Wagner. We've spoken before."

The older man smiled, nodded, grasping the proffered hand in a firm handshake.

"That we did, Herr Wagner. I remember it. Greetings."

He takes in the costume, and suppresses a grin.

"An excellent choice of costume, I must say."

[He is approached by a ball-chomping piranha bearing a tray of assorted goods from the bake sale.]

Hello, soldier! Come on in, don't be shy, the water's fine.
