[Shiro wasn't sure if Ichigo was ever coming back, but the fact remained that he wasn't here now. Without his other, Shiro had to keep his energy up using human souls. So before his "appointment", he'd made a quick trip to Jersey, finding a few souls wandering. Energized, he'd returned to the appropriated spot; a warehouse.

The sound of a static-y boom echoed in the empty building as the Hollow appeared seemingly from nowhere, still clad in his black-fur trimmed white robes and his horned mask. He took a few glances around before lifting his head]

This better be worth my time.

[Within moments after Shiro's declaration, a small, round object is flicked in his direction from the shadows. On impact, it explodes as dozens of Slade's robotic warriors appear, seemingly out of thin air. Enhanced with Cybertronian tech as they are, they're far more powerful and resilient than any regular human.

It's a test, and though Slade already knows what manner of creature Shiro is, it's always helpful to witness such things first-hand.]

[Shiro's gaze darts around when the machines appear, taking his long, thin sword in clawed hand]

Won't even spare some real opponents? Heh!

[the cocky laugh is accompanied by a now glowing sword. The pure white blade glows with a bright white and red energy] Getsuga Tenshou.

[he slices the blade across the air, releasing a crescent-shaped swath of energy, knocking out every robot in its path. What robots aren't destroyed outright are blow back as if trapped by a gale. The energy cuts a gash in the floor as it surges forward, finally colliding with a wall and exploding in a blinding flash of white and red light.

Sure, it was flashy and it was definitely overkill, but why the hell not, right?]

[Recording every move from afar, Slade notices the sheer amount of raw power -- impressive, really, but without direction, it's less than worthless.

A few keystrokes later, and the robots that weren't particularly damaged have arisen and spread out. Explosives and lasers are standard by now, and there's no restriction whatsoever on how much force they're allowed to use.

There is a strategy to it, though, which he'll implement after a few minutes.]

Patience was one of Geddoe's virtues. If he could wait fifty years to carry out a promise, he could wait a few months to uncover paying mercenary gigs in this world. He was wary of the notion of power, but the profit, well. He didn't spend all those years as a bandit waylaying Harmonian caravans to ignore the promise of profit.

He stepped into the warehouse with all senses alert, armed and armored and prepared for any kind of trap he could imagine. The vague whispers in his soul had gone quiet for most of the day, but he was ready to use the Rune if need be.

[More than any of the others he chose, this one is a curiosity. He has his doubts that their particular goals or morals will align with one another, but he's willing to put it to the test.

To begin with, he'll send a handful of his robotic creations to surround him surreptitiously. Geddoe's reaction will determine Slade's next course of action.]

[the benefit of being blind in one eye is always better hearing. Geddoe hears no tread of feet, no breath, no living thing, but he can feel that something is filling up the space around him. Closing in. Wild Geese is in his hand immediately, as he slows to a creep that minimizes the noise his own armor and boot-steps make in order to listen for signs of an attack]

[He notes the change in stance, watching carefully before sending in his minions. Their movements are swift, designed for stealth and mobility more than sheer power as they close in for the assault.]

[Apache's ready to fight in a split-second if need be. Impulsive as she is, she's also had plenty of experience acting as a predator, feeding off of weaker, stupider hollows in order to survive. Still, the anonymous message appealed to her pride in her power. At the moment, she's less concerned about the prospect of a fight - in fact, that is something she's rather eager for. What she is concerned about is potential communication failure. Hopefully the sender of the message can speak Japanese or Spanish. She makes her entrance by kicking the door open.]

All right, you get two minutes to keep me interested. [She starts out in Spanish, but repeats the same thing in Japanese.]

[Luckily for Apache, Slade's travels have left him well-versed in the languages of the world. He understands her perfectly, which is why, in moments, dozens of his robotic creations appear -- stronger, faster, and more durable than a normal human. Armed to the teeth with laser guns, explosives, shurikens, and so much more, he expects them to give her a good time, for as long as they last.]

[Trap, or possibly a test, Apache doesn't care. She's been eager for a chance to cut loose. She's not going to bother with her cero just yet - not when there's targets she can play with consequence-free. Nobody will miss these robots, save perhaps for the anonymous sender. She disappears with a small staticky sound that Slade may recall from Shiro's 'audition' and blows a hole through one of the robots from behind with a small burst of destructive red energy coming from her fist before vanishing once again with the same crackle of static.]

[He recognizes that sound, confirming that Apache is indeed of similar ilk to Shiro. It doesn't change anything, though, as he's already programmed these robots adapt themselves to their opponents strategy. Laser fire cuts through the warehouse in a destructive, yet strategic waves. They might not be quite fast enough to see her, but giving timing and the right amount of firepower, Slade anticipates that she'll be caught eventually.]

MIDNIGHT THE 18TH??? deathdeals August 17 2010, 04:50:37 UTC
[She stands in the open warehouse doorway, measuring up her surroundings and the more obscure interior, then steps briskly in. Lady Shiva is afraid of nothing, mothafuckah--but that does not mean that she is unaware. She knows that this may be a setup, which is a risk she's willing to take. Will it be worth her flying in from Hong Kong? Perhaps not.

If that is the case, however, she is certain that she will be able to express her irritation to the parties responsible.]

[He's waiting for her when she arrives, unwilling to set his robots against her when he's already witnessed her skills firsthand. To do so would be an insult, and Slade is nothing if not a gentleman.

With ease, he detaches himself from the shadows, as much a part of them as the night itself.]

Welcome to the arena, Lady Shiva.

I trust you enjoyed your flight.

Deathstroke.

[She is both pleased and irritated; pleased because he won't deign to insult her with anything less than one-on-one combat, and irritated because......... he's implying that he knew where she was what the hayull man. But now she will be able to measure his worth firsthand, instead of relying on her impressions of her own version. She's had a limited amount of time to stretch her muscles after the flight, but Shiva is already going into a stance, the planes of her face betraying nothing but cool and passionless confidence.]

Shall we begin?

[Since he was tracking her communicator all the while, yes, he does know. That's neither here nor there, though, particularly now, as they're about to engage in combat.

Assuming his own stance, his expression mirrors her own, cool and calculating. He's made a point of studying her technique, the tactics she uses against his robotic creations, so he already knows she's a formidable opponent. The difficult part, however, will lie not so much in fighting her but rather in using the fight to persuade her to join his side.

Poised and at ready, his eye never leaves her.]

After you.

[ Chronos teleports in, a time tunnel opening in thin air that he casually steps out of. He taps his belt and closes the tunnel, crossing his arms and tapping his foot once. He murmurs to himself, not to anyone who might be waiting. ]

Profit, hmm. This should be interesting.

[Interesting, indeed.

As if in response to his voice, somewhere in the warehouse, a door slides open, inviting Chronos to enter.

If he does, an elevator will take him down.]

[ He tilts his head, mildly curious, but turns around as if to leave.

But curiosity does get the best of him, and he goes through the door into the elevator. He taps his arm imaptiently. ]

[The ride is smooth, pleasant even, but it takes time to make it down into the bowels of the earth. The door slides open, finally, revealing a hallway. There are doors, all closed and seal, save for the one near the end, which is cracked open with light spilling forth. Should Chronos choose to enter there, the decor will be timeless to say the least.

Clocks. Clocks are various shapes, sizes, and ages, depending on where (and when) they are from. The room seems almost out of place given the rest of base (for it is that), but perhaps that is the point.]
