He shrugged this topic of conversation off and took another sip of mimosa.
"...Either way. For what it's worth, I'm glad you're back. Friends are few and far between for both of us, I think. It's...nice."
Oh, awkward. He was never any good at this sentimental mushy claptrap, except with Raven. So yeah he just sounded totally insincere there, even though he wasn't.

Perhaps a bit TMI there, Arnie.

"No. I've already floated that idea. She's having none of it. She's going...and where she's going, I'm going. She's determined to make a hero out of me. It's worrisome."

He clenched his jaw and shook his head.
"Probably true. I keep telling her I'm no hero, yet she keeps insisting..."

Those that want a dance with her, she's simply wandering around chatting guests up anyway, and possibly sneaking a chocolate from the huge candy buffet that was set up instead of actual wedding favors.

Sneaking up behind her, as she plucked a chocolate from the candy buffet, he cleared his throat discreetly, and then bowed deeply when she turned around.
"May I have this dance?"

She smiled, and gently extended her hand out to accept.

And the song began to play.
It was their first night again, when a chance remark about Cinderella had gotten her attention. He remembered her teaching him how to waltz, those many months ago. And now they were dancing together on their wedding day.
"One step forward," he whispered to her.

It took those three words to rip all of that away, her breath catching in her throat instantly. For a moment, she couldn't even look at them - rather looked down as they took the step together. Funny, since looking down at their feet was precisely what she had lectured Arnold not to do the night they first danced together.
"Forward..." she managed in a soft tone.

"To the side and together," he said next, wheedling her to look back up.

Instead that smiled turned into what was close to a giggle - just breathier, and not really audible with everything else going on.
She followed every step he took.

"Step back," he mouthed at her, no sound leaving him, as that breathy little silent giggle of hers knocked the wind out of him. His wife... She was his wife, it had really happened, he was married and he had a wife!
