Don't be a wall flower. Not even the groom is allowed to be like that today.

"Eh."

He shrugged this topic of conversation off and took another sip of mimosa.

"...Either way. For what it's worth, I'm glad you're back. Friends are few and far between for both of us, I think. It's...nice."

Oh, awkward. He was never any good at this sentimental mushy claptrap, except with Raven. So yeah he just sounded totally insincere there, even though he wasn't.

"Thank god," he said with a nervous laugh. "Now all I have to do is pray we get a wedding night and not get dragged off to Los Angeles."

Perhaps a bit TMI there, Arnie.

He shook his head.

"No. I've already floated that idea. She's having none of it. She's going...and where she's going, I'm going. She's determined to make a hero out of me. It's worrisome."

There was a moment, when he suddenly saw a potential future laid out ahead of them, where he had to hero it up against Billy's villainous schemes.

He clenched his jaw and shook his head.

"Probably true. I keep telling her I'm no hero, yet she keeps insisting..."

Raven had purposely put on her more comfortable shoes (it was just a coincidence that they were red and gold, like the rest of the wedding), as she was quickly told to expect half a dozen dances, if not more. The phrase 'it's the brides day' would come into play here, as she took spotlight for most of the evening.

Those that want a dance with her, she's simply wandering around chatting guests up anyway, and possibly sneaking a chocolate from the huge candy buffet that was set up instead of actual wedding favors.

Ah, but there's one dance that only he's allowed to have. And he's allowed to have it first.

Sneaking up behind her, as she plucked a chocolate from the candy buffet, he cleared his throat discreetly, and then bowed deeply when she turned around.

"May I have this dance?"

She actually had a rather humorous reaction to the throat clearing, promptly dropping that little wrapped chocolate back into it's bowl like a kid caught with her hand in a cookie jar. That bow, though, took all the awkward and embarrassed emotions away, leaving just a genuine blush to her features.

She smiled, and gently extended her hand out to accept.

He chuckled at that, and took her hand in his. He'd arranged it with the DJ to play this song the moment they took the floor. Alone. With everybody staring at them. Guh. The nerves came back for a moment as they stood there in the silence.

And the song began to play.

It was their first night again, when a chance remark about Cinderella had gotten her attention. He remembered her teaching him how to waltz, those many months ago. And now they were dancing together on their wedding day.

"One step forward," he whispered to her.

Raven often managed to be completely composed in front of crowds that were watching, and had told herself repeatedly that she'd remain that way for the reception - she'd be that perfect bride, the one who smiled warmly, sparkled with every step she took, and exuded complete maturity and grace.

It took those three words to rip all of that away, her breath catching in her throat instantly. For a moment, she couldn't even look at them - rather looked down as they took the step together. Funny, since looking down at their feet was precisely what she had lectured Arnold not to do the night they first danced together.

"Forward..." she managed in a soft tone.

Since his hands were occupied in leading her, he couldn't tilt her chin up with his fingers. But he did angle his head down to her, to get her to look back up at him. Especially since she was in such a very large dress. If they tripped, they'd look ridiculous.

"To the side and together," he said next, wheedling her to look back up.

She finally did manage, her eyes locking with the warm browns of his, and she smiled. This time, she didn't repeat the words, because she didn't need to. Hearing him repeat that little mantra she'd taught him while learning, combined with the song itself, was more than enough for her.

Instead that smiled turned into what was close to a giggle - just breathier, and not really audible with everything else going on.

She followed every step he took.

Just like at the ceremony, the moment he met her eyes everything else fell away, leaving the two of them in a ringing, comfortable, galaxy-wide silence. He might have even lost the tempo of the song, but it didn't matter.

"Step back," he mouthed at her, no sound leaving him, as that breathy little silent giggle of hers knocked the wind out of him. His wife... She was his wife, it had really happened, he was married and he had a wife!
