Tony was there, a pair of fashionable sunglasses perched on his nose, and two very large paper cups from Starbucks were in his hand. He smiled, and handed her the one in his left hand.

"Hey there, Brenda. I promised you I'd bring you some coffee, and I thought I'd swing by to pick you up for work," he paused, and took a glance down at her clothes.

"Unless you were going to quit?"

"I didn't show up for ten days and my boss has been awol himself for a good while before that." she admitted, accepting the cup with a sheepish smile and waving for him to step inside.

"I'm pretty sure I don't have a job to go to at this point. Though I really appreciate the offer for a ride."

He lifted an eyebrow, and followed inside, closing the door.

"That bad, huh? Well, I know for a fact that someone definitely still needs a coffee gopher," he stated airily, looking around the room.

Brenda settled on couch to take a sip of her coffee, sighing - just right - before nearly choking on the swallow. Did he just say what she thought he ...
