It had been a long, tiring day. Crashing back in, the chaos of home cut short by the frightening calm of being back in the city. Jaime was alright, he'd reassured Brenda of that about forty million times in the last twenty four hours, and Mark as promised had taken her to the clinic and tried to keep her calm. There hadn't been enough hugs or thank yous for any of them.
She'd gotten little sleep, but once it was sunny out dropping back off was impossible, although she'd laid hopefully in bed for a few more hours before getting up and washing her face.
Now she was in the kitchen, still in pj's, staring sleepily at her small collection of teas, coffees and sodas, wondering which variety of caffeine she should start the day with. Given that she was probably fired by now and basically going to spend the day working on Pokemon and Guitar Hero...
The knock on her door startled her out of her skin for a second, but by the time she'd padded over, peered through the peephole, and opened up memory was with her again and there was a tired smile on her face for her visitor.
"Hey Bossman."
