What do you say to someone who shows up here even though you know they're dead back home?

[abrupt question is abrupt, sorry]

'How's it going?' seems like an asshole-ish question in that situation. But you have to say something, it's only polite. Especially if they're going to be hanging around for who knows how long in this place. Eh, not that it ( Read more... )

.....quite the face you've got under the blue, there, doc.

Anyway. I've heard tales of the city coming after unsupervised kids to force them to go to school, before. I don't know how long until they find out there's an eight-year old hanging around me, but if and when they do...what's the advantage of letting her go to the institute?

Took me by surprise, too. It's been years since I've seen this mug in the mirror!

The benefits? Well, we specialize in imPort students, with providing them a safe environment where they can feel more comfortable, and never alienated if we can help it. In addition to a standard curriculum, we also provide classes on the responsible management of any powers they may have been provided, as well.

Well, I'm pretty sure she's already got a decent grasp on her power...although come to think of it I never did ask just how old she was when she ate the devil-fruit...

Anyway. I would never presume to speak for her, even at her age Miss Robin is capable of making her own choices. But if the damn government comes knocking, I don't know if she'll have much choice.

Well, should the occasion ever arise, you can rest assured that we'd do our very best to meet her needs.

I'll keep that in mind, if someone does sit up and take notice. You seem like the kind of guy I can trust to support Miss Robin.

I appreciate the vote of confidence. Hopefully your status as her guardian should make matters easier, however.

Er...well. I haven't exactly officially done that or anything. [because it's weird] If it comes to it, I'll do what I have to do to make sure no one takes Robin anywhere, but...

It's actually not as involved as one might suspect, not for imPort children, at least. I know a few things about getting through the process, if you'd like some assistance!

I'll...think about it. Maybe I'll see what she wants.

Ah, yes, considering her feelings on the matter would be recommended.

I wouldn't dream of doing otherwise. She's a smart girl. Her name is Nico Robin, if you happen to hear tell of her.

I'll keep an ear out, in that case.
