Tragic, isn't it? The disappointment that haunts endeavors. Individuals. No matter how much faith you invest, no matter how much you care. No matter what guidance you offer.

This is why I never took on sidekicks.

When does a person no longer deserve a second chance? Is there even such a thing?

Shockingly, it's not directed at you.

But it's directed at someone.

People can disappoint, but I've found they can often exceed even your best expectations of them. Sometimes though for them to reach that point you have to hold back on the advice and let them make their own mistakes. The important part is being there for them to help correct those mistakes. Those lessons are usually not forgotten easily.

I'll admit it's hard to do sometimes, but as much as we might want to protect someone it's a necessary thing for their growth.

SO yes, people often deserve second chances. Maybe even a third. In the end it's usually worth it.

I'm sure you're right, honestly. After all, if we poured in the investment for that first chance, why flounder halfway through?

Exactly.

Was the investment in this case substantial?

Rarely do I invest in such a manner. So, yes, it was.

Have your investments fared well, if you don't mind me asking? I wouldn't mind a touch of statistical data. It's heartwarming.

Wow, that makes it sound like a chore. What's going on? Or rather, what else is going on?

Oh dear, I surely didn't mean to damage your ego in the slightest. Oh no.

I think we ought to call a meeting together. To address the inevitable bad things that will come.

Its fragile! Damaging it could render ms unfit for duty, and then the city could go up in flames within the hour!

Although, it's not a bad idea. Something is going to happen with this, and really at the end of the day, I can't question that it'll be bad, but what the magnitude will be.

Falsehood -- oh. I hate it when it ignited on sarcasm.

Mm. You'll want to set one soon. Time is ticking and all that.
