Okay. So, uhm, I realize that there's a lot of tension right now in the City, especially after the President's announcement. And I know that's on most of our minds right now. For the record, I'm going over there to help.

But! But okay, did anyone else watch the finals in the Scripps spelling bee tonight?!

May I catch a ride with you?

Also, no sorry, I found episodes of the Littlest Hobo on the reruns channel and sort of got stuck on it.

Oh, sure, of course!

But it's the National Spelling Bee!! I missed out on my last chance to participate because that was the year I met Billy and well... got superpowers, but I had won the State level and ooooohhhh I wish I could have gone!

Well, yeah. But...it's spelling. That's like being the best, I don't know, algebra...er? Algebraster? ...Is there a word for that?

They don't have algebra bees at all, I don't think. But it's not the same at all because with language, you get to learn about how words have changed and evolved, and how words have been passed through one language to another, and the way their meanings have slowly changed with time! You get to learn about things like why "y" is sometimes a vowel, but other times a consonant, and why a p and an h together are pronounced like an f! Oh, it's just wonderful! And in a bee, you're timed, and there are no second chances. You're either right, or your wrong, and it's just so wonderful when you're right!

Bees spell in this world?

No, no, silly! A spelling bee is a competition for people to spell out words in a certain amount of time! I used to be a spelling bee champion, back home.

How can you be a champion at spelling?

By spelling words correctly that others can't in a time limit!

Of course I have! I won the state championship back home! I would have moved on to nationals but... well... I became a superhero instead.

Why would someone watch a spelling bee on TV?

... Why wouldn't you?

It just um doesn't seem like it'd be really exciting. I didn't even realize they televised them.

Oh, gosh, I know a lot of people say that, but I think it's incredibly exciting! I know, I know, you can think I'm boring, it's okay.
