"Then we'll both be equally disadvantaged," Fakir said. "So... I suppose you'll have to tolerate working with me as much as I have to tolerate working with you."

"But I don't mind working with you at all, Fakir!" protested Duck.

"Even when I tell you you're a nuisance and an idiot?" Fakir asked, a vague but fond smile tugging at his lips. "You have a talent for just accepting things with a smile on your face."

"Well, except when you tell me that!" admitted Duck grudgingly. "But we're friends, so I don't mind the rest of the time."

She blushed a little at his last comment. "That's why Drosselmeyer chose me to be Princess Tutu." she said ruefully.

We're friends, huh? ...I guess.

"Well, you aren't Tutu anymore," Fakir said. "I guess you... don't have to worry about disappearing. And you can just be a normal girl."

"I'm too weird to ever be a normal girl."

"You're not that weird."

[poorduck]

"Really?" Duck couldn't really believe her ears. Before she and Fakir had teamed up, he'd been the one who'd called her strange, aimless and duck-like the most. It was nice to hear, though.

"Either that, or you're weird and I've gotten used to it," Fakir said. He got to his feet, bringing his bookbag with him. "I should probably get going home."
