Saturday we visited the Antelope Valley Poppy Reserve. It's in a remote, high desert area of California 60 miles north of Los Angeles. As the name implies it's home to California Poppies, which are currently not just in bloom but in
super-bloom. Here's an example of what that comparison looks like:

We went in expecting to see large fields of poppies but what we found when we arrived blew away our expectations. Poppies blanketed the hillsides in fields that stretched for miles.
But wait, there's more! We saw
more superbloom driving to Carrizo Plain the next day.
