Thought you all might be interested in this email I got today from Grad Studies at my uni (and no, I was not one of the lucky people who was able to check my results!!):

SSHRC has a secure website to check? Must be for higher-ups or something, or I've been missing out on a place to compulsively check.

SSHRC's secure website is only accessible to a select few at each university. They consult the list of accepted applications then pass it along to the departments or faculty, who send out the letters. It's the same process for the SSHRC grants for professors.
So, unfortunately, you can't compulsively check. You just have to wait for the university to contact you (or SSHRC to contact you depending on how you applied).

Not exactly - SSHRC also sends out its own letters. Depending on where you're at, you may get your SSHRC letter earlier than the departmental/Faculty of Grad Studies letters.

::cough:: York's FGS ::cough:: sent me my "You suck, B-list" letter *after* people had already received their congratulatory letters from SSHRC.

Yes...how is it an error for them to have 'accidentally' posted the results on the correct date?

interesting - I'd assumed I didn't get one because I hadn't heard yet. But then, I fully expect not to get one (in my last year of eligibility)...yes I'm bitter.

okay, i gotta stop auto-refreshing the page. but technically, it says results will be posted 'after the 14th'. and lo, it is past midnight, and therefore after the 14th, and no decisions are posted.

i presume this is some sort of batch job that will run overnight at some point to update.

or that OGS, unyielding in the deadlines it gives students, can't manage to meet its own deadlines for announcing decisions... :)

If it's any consolation (or helps people avoid the impulse to refresh once an hour), I heard confirmation from our admin person that results won't be up until end of week:

"... the OGS results were supposed to be announced yesterday but they hit a glitch and have delayed the announcement until the end of the week (April 18th)"
