I'm not sure whether it says something about SPN fandom or just my awareness of it... but it took me a moment to realize "Cassie" was not, in fact, a sex swapped Castiel. :p

It says things about both. Cassie is an incredibly infrequently written character :/

Also, LOL. One of my flisters frequently and loudly voices her opinion that Gina Torres would make an awesome Castiel. (I totally agree.)

Uh, because it's awesome? There was actually a really interesting Big Bang fic this year which took the trope and played with it, taking an always-a-woman-Deanna and making her a man. The story didn't pull any punches about what that would mean in the sort of working class hunting world and it made for really interesting reading.

It's been a while since I've tried to watch Cleo 2010, but I can only hope that she pulled the quality of the show up.

If I can find all of the pieces affordably, then there will be photos :) I think that it's actually a better match than Donna was, physically speaking.

There is podfic in the works! I really overcomited :/ The only thing less than enthusiastic thing I'd have to say about the story is that I wish we'd spent more time seeing how John gets from point A to point B - that all happens off-screen - but it's not a story about him, you know? It's about Cassie and a little bit about Dean, and John has some great scenes, but is definitely secondary cast. I'm pretty sure that you'll love it :D
