I have hopes for Capaldi being a turning over of a new leaf.
Amy has been saying that she hopes that Moffat tying up loose plot threads might be an indication that he's getting ready to leave. He was discussing it earlier in the year, as I recall.
My brother has reportedly convinced himself that Capaldi means A Fresh Start. I'm not pinning my hopes on it but I AM looking forward to seeing what he brings to role and how the Doctor's dynamic with Clara changes. It's been a while since we've had a companion carryover through a regeneration :D
