lol.
ah I love it. And by 'love it' I mean "love the fact that I continue to have more and more reasons to truly dispise the cons".

Oh lets see what kind of excuse theyre going to give. "Im sorry, I dont want to pay all those taxes so women who have been raped by their brothers and abandoned by their families can rot on the streets. im foing fishing".

Geniouses. Why stop the expantion of the lower class? Theyre better off getting into drugs and dieing of an over dose any way, right?
No, stupid me, these are the cons we're talking about. What they want is them to get into drugs, then we can put them in jail and have an unnecisary drain in our legal system.

The thought process of these people never fails to amaze me.

Your comment was a hyperbole filled rant. There's not much point to be made other than 'WTF?'

There are alot of programs that need to be axed.

Funding to special interest groups is just one example. Multicultural programs should be cut, as should the CBC. Waste of money.

They should also ax Corporate and Agricultural Subsidies. If a company can't operate profitably on it's own that's too bad.

Yup , and then we should spend all of that money on the military. After which time we should just go ahead and become another state in the US.

like the US.... your joking, right?

The US has one of the largest Corporate and Agricultural Subsidy programs in the world......

And no, don't spend that money on the Military. Tax breaks. For every dolar the government removes from Subsidy and returns in tax cuts, it generates 1.5 dolars in economic activity.

Subsidies just reward companies for poor management.

Ok i'l be serious , what you suggest is not viable, the reason why coutries subsidise their agrilture is because its a part of the national identity that makes up the fabric of cultural values , what you suggest is political suicide.

As for this department, I cannot fathom how a department which addresses issues which are of import to more than half our population is trivial to you

Since we are all so equal I wonder why, on average, women still only make about 80% of what men make for the SAME JOB. OR why women still do 80% of work in the home even when they an their spouse work the SAME number of hours. Or why, in Canada, both public and private boards of directors are made up of less than 20% women despite the fact that they make up over 50% of university graduates. Or why less than 25% of our elected reps are women. Hmmmm, guess we really don't need women's groups working on our behalf since clearly we are soooo close to perfect equality. I think not.

women still only make about 80% of what men make for the SAME JOB.

Women in general work fewer hours/less overtime. The hourly wages for men and women working at similar levels in similar positions are not really that different.

why women still do 80% of work in the home even when they an their spouse work the SAME number of hours.

That's between a wife and husband and not relevent to social programs.

why, in Canada, both public and private boards of directors are made up of less than 20% women despite the fact that they make up over 50% of university graduates.

Those positions are filled by people with considerable experience. The 50% of university grads who are women today are not going to go straight into these positions; men are more prevalent because they are part of a generation that graduated primarily men. In thirty years, things will be different, because women will have comparable experience to men.

Or why less than 25% of our elected reps are women. This doesn't tell me anything unless compared to the percentage ( ... )

I just love it when MP's say the government is obviously trying to do something but can't. Sure, and they know this how? I've even questioned the Conservatives on that when they were in opposition. I'm pretty sure the Conservatives are just trying to trim the fat and making groups spend more wisely. The groups themselves should take a step back and see where they really should be focusing and where their money should be going. If these groups did that and the cuts were still too much, then I'd be concerned.
