There are alot of programs that need to be axed.

Funding to special interest groups is just one example. Multicultural programs should be cut, as should the CBC. Waste of money.

They should also ax Corporate and Agricultural Subsidies. If a company can't operate profitably on it's own that's too bad.

Yup , and then we should spend all of that money on the military. After which time we should just go ahead and become another state in the US.

The US has one of the largest Corporate and Agricultural Subsidy programs in the world......

And no, don't spend that money on the Military. Tax breaks. For every dolar the government removes from Subsidy and returns in tax cuts, it generates 1.5 dolars in economic activity.

Subsidies just reward companies for poor management.

Ok i'l be serious , what you suggest is not viable, the reason why coutries subsidise their agrilture is because its a part of the national identity that makes up the fabric of cultural values , what you suggest is political suicide.

As for this department, I cannot fathom how a department which addresses issues which are of import to more than half our population is trivial to you

What department, the Finance Department?

I don't recall any department being cut, or me saying one should be cut.

If there is any department that should be cut, it's Indian Affairs, or what ever it's called these days.
