Interesting that the other side reports it at all, frankly.

I loved that old Christmas Cartoon.

Yeah. I loved it too. Which is why I say DEATH to whoever decided to remake/"re-imagine" those old Rankin Bass classics! The new versions are everywhere -- or at least they have been the past few years -- but you can't find the old (far superior) ones anymore! >P

Ted Turner. The same guy who married Jane Fonda and paid America's dues to the United Nations.

i figured there would be some horrible mistake or obvious bias, but that seemed thorough and fair

Eh, not all American cable news is Fox. CNN have made their share of bonehead moves -- see all of their Iraq War coverage up until the rise of the insurgency and when all hope of finding WMDs dried up -- but there mostly pretty harmless, and their news coverage isn't terrible, generally.

They failed to mention that all NAFTA panels have said we are right. They treat it as if it's still a debate.

Although Martin came to power in December 2003 promising to repair relations with the United States that were damaged by his predecessor's decision not to take part in the Iraq War, he has shown little hesitation in attacking Washington.

It's funny because up here there are many of us that think he's hesitating too much!

Harper, who criticizes what he says is Martin's needless antagonism of the Bush administration, knows that his electoral chances could be fatally undermined if he allows himself to be portrayed as too pro-American.

...or if he opens his mouth or is caught smiling too much (he's got a really creepy smile) or if he does another cowboy outfit.

Harper is more than a little bit creepy, it's not surprizing that he isn't portraying a "pro-american" point of view, I see him as a smaller and less powerful clone of Bush.

Yea but Bush has something Harper doesn't have !

..the ability to make up funny phrases like "Listen, I want to thank leaders of the - in the faith - faith-based and community-based community for being here."

I don't like Harper's politics. But he at least has a brain. Harper is a former computer programmer. Bush is a former party animal.

ONe can speak well in two languages. The other muddles one language.

Maybe Pat Robertson will get on the air to say that they should assasinate him.

"This dispute with the United States demands leadership at the national level in Canada, even if that leadership happens to rankle some in the U.S.," said Martin, whose minority Liberal government fell last month over a corruption scandal.

seems like an awfully pointed place to volunteer that bit of information :D
