Here via the Daily Snitch... This looks like a great community!

My question is: in the Harry/Ginny 'shipper world, there's a thing about Ginny stealing socks from her brothers. I don't remember this happening in canon, but it's so widespread in the 'shipper world that I just wanted to check and be sure. Is there any mention of Ginny's sock ( Read more... )

...Good grief. That one is incredibly new to me. Offhand, I can't remember ever hearing or reading anything about that, ever, but I may be wrong. It sounds like one of those fanon things that just got spawned from one or two particular fics that many people read. Am almost completely sure.

Lol!! Don't you have something about Ginny and socks in one of your one-shots?! Or Ginny and laundry, for sure..."it is indeed profitable to fold laundry around here." Something about Ron writing Hermione's name on his socks or something...and Ginny does too.

Is that right, or did I just make that up? Or is that a different fic/author? *doubts self*

She did. Ginevra Weasley and the Revenge of the Oven Ron and his socks, Ginny and her drawers. But she didn't steal anything.

This was a new one on me too, just ctrl-f'd all 5 books and no "sock" mention in conjunction with Ginny.

I think would have remembered something like that... it's a rather unusual trait. So I would have to say no, there's no mention of Ginny stealing her brother's socks. Getting hand me down socks from them, maybe.

FYI, it's from the story Carpe Diem by Imogen. I remember a post where she said she actually stopped using SockStealing!Ginny because it had become so prevalent.
