Would it be too much to ask of Ken, the one eyed wonder kid that is my landlord, to at least knock on the door or ring me up before he starts doing oddly unnecessary repairs around my open windows?

i wish my landlord could do repairs!! i told him a year ago that the hardwood floor in my livingroom has this patch of huge splinters and it needs to be taken care of, but he still hasn't gotten his thumb out of his ass to fix it, bleh!

Well, I'm not saying Ken is good at doing repairs, not at all. I hold up his glass eyeball (figuratively speaking, of course) and his near total hearing loss as evidence. He has a friend come over to do the electrical work, and this friend is missing a leg. No kidding.

When I first lived in London, my landlord employed an Irish builder called, inevitably, Paddy, to do everything - when our electrics went wrong Paddy pulled out walls all over the place until finally they had to call a real electrician.

Paddy stopped working for the landlord. My bandmates Jennifer and Tammy moved into a place in Willesden, in Winter. The heating didn't work. Their landlord called his handyman - the very same Paddy. Paddy took the door off the boiler, and beyond, behind the water heater, was a hole in the wall and lots of snow.

(Later it turned out the place was infested with cockroaches. They'd just been hiding, because of the cold...)

I'm not giving up on it. I just got busy, and I also realized trying to rush through it in one month was just not how I wanted to write the story. I'll definitely continue working on it, and let everyone know when it is finished.
