the absence of god will bring you comfort, baby

Here is a video post for you all. Fair warning, I was holding the camera myself the whole time, which I didn't realize made it a little shaky, but it did, so if that bothers you, I apologize. Maybe next time I'll just attempt to use my laptop's webcam. :-/

Anyway, video!

Really like the video post!

Have NO shame in SYTYCD - I watch and enjoy it too! Is it weird that there have been dances that have moved me to tears? I mean..tears. I feel lame when that happens.

You mentioned that you rarely get the house to yourself - I live alone and have for over 2 years (previously lived almost 3 years with my best friend and my sister)...anyway! I'm wondering how you cope with that? I'm a person that needs time to myself and because of that I've never lived with someone I've dated. I'm dating someone now that I can see myself living with, but I'm wondering if you have any wisdom to share on the subject. What are some of the things you had to adjust to when you merged your lives into one house?

:)

Aw, thank you! :) I always feel a little self-conscious and awkward when I do things like this, so I'm glad you liked it ( ... )

Oh, we've got that stuff down. I meant more along the lines of habits and such that you had to adjust to or he had to adjust to :)

Hmmm. Well Brad is messier than I am, so that's something we've both had to adjust and compromise with - i.e., I try not to nag him when he leaves his clothes on the floor or his dishes on his desk or whatnot, and try not to let it bother me that the house is not always going to be up to the cleanliness standard I'd have on my own. And I think for him, it's been an adjustment to recognize that he's not in his own bachelor pad anymore and that it will affect another person when, for example, he doesn't replace the toilet paper after he's finished the roll ( ... )

How fun! I mostly listened rather than watched because things that move like that aren't good for my motion sickness. -_-

That's great about the Craiglist study! And the money sounds great too, of course. :D

Awww, how about holding off on a new pet until you can get a puppy? Based on your FB posts it seems you reallllly want a dog, so I hope you'll be able to get one soon.

That's great that you had the place to yourself for awhile!

You're such a natural in front of the camera. I'd be stuttering and whatnot. :P

PS Cute icon!

Yeah, I'm sorry about the motion! :( I didn't even realize it until I watched it after, and then I didn't want to redo the whole video. Next time I'll just try to use the built-in webcam on my laptop and see what the quality's like ( ... )

No worries! I enjoyed listening. :D

Nerdy, maybe, but I think I'd find it fun as well. Nerds unite!

Sounds like a good plan. I hope you guys find the perfect dog soon. There is one out there with your name on him/her! He/she'll have amazing parents, I know that!

Oh! That's something I forgot to comment about! I love how comfy the cat looked. When i see animals like that I just want to use them as pillows. What a cutie.

Nah, you definitely didn't say too much. :) You may have inspired me to do something similar. Maybe. -_-

Woo, nerds! And thanks, I hope so too!

Haha, yeah, I have totally used the cat as the pillow a few times. She's just so fluffy, it's hard to resist!

Yay, go for it!

Yeah, I was glad I actually qualified to participate in one. I see them looking for research volunteers all the time, but it's always things like 'are you a smoker?' or 'do you binge eat?' or whatever else that I wouldn't fit into the category. So yeah, I'll try to post after it's over.

Thanks! :) Kitty videos are always worth posting.

Yay video post! Are you bringing that new project to knitting tomorrow? Because I just may have one as well . . . ;)

Definitely. I may actually be working on this one for more than a week since it's not crochet, haha. And that's so exciting, you finished the blanket?! I hope you'll take some pictures!

Hehe, glad you found a study to participate in, and glad they have a non-meth-using control group! I remember how a lot of the studies for the intro psych lab-rat hours required participants to be in a long-term romantic relationship, and the fact that I couldn't find studies to be in just turned me from a single person into a really bitter single person. :oP

Yeah, I'm kind of excited that I get to participate in it. And ugh, I remember having to be a lab rat for the intro psych courses. Sorry that your experience with them made you bitter!! :)

The guy I had a bit of a secret crush on at the time asked me out about 5.5 years too late to help with those studies, but at least I did end up with him! :o)

So, we know where your study is getting the meth-free control group, but where are they getting the meth-using experimental group? I'm guessing a rehab facility, but it would be kind of awesome if the $600 reward enticed meth users to sign themselves up!

Haha, yay! :)

I'm not sure, honestly. I know I've seen other ads on craigslist looking for non-control subjects for other studies - asking for smokers, binge-eaters, people with depression, etc., so they may have gotten meth users that way, too. And the craigslist ads just say that you will be compensated, you don't find out how much the payment is until after you contact them about participating.
