taking the train of youth back home again

it is clearly time for an update. i'm not sure what exactly i have to say but it'll all come out.

first of all, i got home from work today to find a lizard in my room. or maybe it's a newt/salamander, i'm not quite sure, but whatever it is, it was in my bedroom, just chilling on my carpet. like so:

That's a skink, and they give me the creeps because they look like snakes if youa ren't paying attention.

it gave me the creeps because it was IN MY BEDROOM. aaaaa! fortunately, he was relocated outside, thanks to the help of two of my coworkers, though i don't think i mentioned that in my entry.

haha I was going to tell her it's a skink too. If you scare them, their tails will literally fall off!! It's a defense mechanism to distract predators.

We have a lot of them living next to my house, it's a 'burg thing I guess. I don't know, I think they're cute, and it's funny how if you startle one while it's sunning itself it'll just scramble under some leaves. No worries, they're harmless!

hmm . . . good to know, i guess? lol. anyway, he's safely back in the outdoors, so no more strange critters to worry about.

Well, I never did find anyone else to share a storage unit with...it's probably a pain in the butt to haul all your stuff over there just for 2 weeks, but if you run out of better options, that is available. :o)
