I have a lot of stuff to get off my chest. Like, a lot. About Chloe. And it's not good. So Chloe fans? You might want to skip this, however, know that I am aware that everything I'm about to rag on is the fault of the writers and TPTB apparently not caring how they portray their leading lady. You'd think I'd be used to it with how they treat ( Read more... )

Yeah, you failed to irritate me. Try harder. ; )

Yes, she should have been more curious. It is really annoying how they flop the characterizations around. Further they've really been screwing around with not letting us into her head for some time.

Mostly I took her stuff to Clark as, don't get cocky, be careful.

*sighs* I can't win for losing.

Honestly? I'm sure that's all Chloe was supposed to be meaning in her conversations with Clark. It's that they made her into a hypocrite by how they had her say it and it's not a good look for Chloe.

Compared to how stupid they made her look by marrying her to Jimmy this is trivial. I said on Brianne's journal that if Clark is entitled to a Legion ring's worth of buyer's remorse over going public, I'm thinking a Chloe version isn't so unreasonable.

But yeah, if a six year old tells Chloe that a Sasquach stole his homework, she should be at least a wee bit suspicious by now.

Thats a great rant. :)

When I do my own Turbulence review, I will be going into detail about my problems with Chloe in this episode, but a lot of them are just repeats of what you've said here ( ... )

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Too much Chloe, just like there used to be too much Lana, because they have to give them something to do and with Chloe it seems almost worse because they can do whatever they want with her; she's theirs. They just keep piling on the number of hats she wears without seeming to realize they can spread them out to other characters without taking away Allison's "leading lady" status.

What other characters. They continued the show after losing half their cast. Idiots.

Well, I would have used Doomsday/Brainiac far more differently than what we've seen, without placing it solely on Chloe's head. I also think Isis has been useless and should have just gone away with Lana, but I doubt I'm alone in that one. Oliver could have been more effectively used as a sounding board for Clark as well as Chloe instead of it just being her all the time. That sort of thing.

The funniest part? Even the cast knows this. Cassidy Freeman, Tess this year, said in a recent interview how freeing a character Chloe is for TPTB, because she's their creation and they can do anything they want with her, and do.

What they're doing to Chloe is the same thing that made me get super-irritated with Fred in S5 of Angel. Inconsistent personality and turned into Super-Sue because she was suddenly THE SCIENTIST and THE HOT CHICK and WHATEVER ELSE WASN'T ALREADY COVERED BY ANOTHER CAST MEMBER.

I agree with everything you say. I didn't note the first scene, but now that you mention it, and I rewatched it - yes. There's this strange condescension, almost. The rest I observed as well, and it was the first time in a while Chloe has actively aggravated me this much. It was a terrible ep for her. I never thought I'd have this much sympathy for Jimmy, of all people, upon the eventual demise of Chimmy, but there you go.
