I have a lot of stuff to get off my chest. Like, a lot. About Chloe. And it's not good. So Chloe fans? You might want to skip this, however, know that I am aware that everything I'm about to rag on is the fault of the writers and TPTB apparently not caring how they portray their leading lady. You'd think I'd be used to it with how they treat ( Read more... )

Thats a great rant. :)

When I do my own Turbulence review, I will be going into detail about my problems with Chloe in this episode, but a lot of them are just repeats of what you've said here.

The Clavisimmy triangle feels very much like something they would design for Lana, but gave to Chloe because, apparently, she has to be omnipresent this year. The fickle, half-hearted commitment to the one your with, and the immediate trusting of a shady character. Its totally a Lana story. But it doesn't work for Chloe.

And they've needed to dial back on the Chlark stuff for a while now. I've been saying for 2 seasons now that they seem to have lost the key to writing this friendship. Way too often, it comes off as Chloe telling Clark what he should do. And thats obviously intentional, because they've had Clark give Chloe credit for his RBB heroics now, twice. Obviously no thought given to what that takes away from his character from the writers.

I just think the show is on Chloe overkill, and from my perspective, in the fan venues I visit, I think its having a backlash effect.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. Too much Chloe, just like there used to be too much Lana, because they have to give them something to do and with Chloe it seems almost worse because they can do whatever they want with her; she's theirs. They just keep piling on the number of hats she wears without seeming to realize they can spread them out to other characters without taking away Allison's "leading lady" status.

What other characters. They continued the show after losing half their cast. Idiots.

Well, I would have used Doomsday/Brainiac far more differently than what we've seen, without placing it solely on Chloe's head. I also think Isis has been useless and should have just gone away with Lana, but I doubt I'm alone in that one. Oliver could have been more effectively used as a sounding board for Clark as well as Chloe instead of it just being her all the time. That sort of thing.

Yeah Isis and the counseler thing is a hot mess of mischaracterization. But they had to prop up hopes for her to fade off the scene somehow, I guess. I look forward to dumping Isis.

I really was hoping for more of an Ollie arc too.

I totally agree that Ollie's arc was underdeveloped.
