I'm back from nefertina86's - the weekend was really great! Met some really nice people and even though I've had better salads and chocolate frappés in my life, I still enjoyed the evening at "La Prison" ^_^
Hope, my sweetie's feeling better cause she caught a cold and by Sunday morning she had lost her voice completely ;-;

I didn't stay until after the credits, but my friend told me that when you do, you can hear the totem drop. So that'd proof that Cobb wasn't dreaming anymore.
Also, the children in Cobb's memory were always the same age. But at the end, when he returns home, they are visibly older. I don't have screen shots, but someone on the imdb message board posted them. They have aged. Memories don't change, so the kids wouldn't age, so that'd be more proof that the ending was real.

Hm, I didn't have the impression that the kids grew much older in the end and we have never seen their faces before because Cobb always refused seeing them. I guess the yearning for his kids would have got too intense and he would have liked to stay in that level of dreaming if he had seen them. And ... yeah, the kids are wearing the very same clothes all the time, not just in Cobb's memory but also in the end. That's what struck my mind.
Nolan is a mind-fucking/sucking sadist that he created this open end. ARGH!!
But in an interview he said that the ending is not open at all. What?!? %D For you, you sadistic genius!
But I guess that is one of the most amazing aspects of the movie: You think and talk about it right after watching. You don't admit it completely and say: Ok, movie was cool ,whatever. But you deal with the topic, the characters and the story. : D That's awesome!

Hm, I cannot say that I noticed that the kids have aged, as well... BUT I read an interview of the costume designer who said, that the kids WERE wearing different clothes... have no idea, I mean... he refused to look at them all the time, why would he call for them and look at them in the end? That is, if he doesn't know that he's dreaming...

In the end it's still an open end and I love Nolan for that, because every other ending would've been strange and annoying! Just like I can't imaging Supernatural (yeah, I have to bring it up ^^) ever ending happily... it just wouldn't fit so I'm more than satisfied with this ending!!

Just one more thing: Please, Mr Nolan - DON'T SHOOT A SEQUEL!!! It's perfect as it is, I don't want another part!! Thanks!!

Cobb looks at his children in the end because he doesn't care anymore if it's a dream or reality. He just puts his totem onto the table and doesn't take a look if it keeps spinning or not. So he kind of accepts his ... fate or whatever you want to call it. °-°

The end is perfect. A happy end would have been out of place, right.

And no, he won't do a sequel of Inception. : D
I think he just said that but first he will relax for some months and then he will begin to work on Batman 3. <3

Yeah, and Inception... think I´ve to watch it in German again, didn´t get everything in english. After the screen went black everybody in the cinema gasp it was really... cool?! Cause nobody expected an open ending like this! But it was perfect!!!

What will u (or did u already?) buy @IKEA?! :D

Yeah, I think it's better to watch a movie like this in your first language... we could always go together, since I wanna see it again anyway!!!
