Not long after I got back from Dundee, I went out with some friends to see A Scanner Darkly, Richard Linklater's adaptation of the Philip K. Dick novel. Wasn't sure what to expect - all the films I'd seen based on his work had basically taken a one-line plot summary and used it as the basis for an action movie. Not that I have anything against
