All the people I've seen using it here makes it seem useful.

Lots of things. To help people, to keep myself safe if there's another cultist incident, to provide for my village when I get home...

Those things you mentioned aren't what's driving you to the bottle, is it?

Furthermore, you actually have to sober most of the time to do magic--especially the parts that are mostly trickery and very little magic.

You'd be very good at the parts that don't require magic because you can anticipate what people are going to say most of the time.

I also doubt young girls drink as you do where you come from, so either you're not a young girl or you come from a very different place. Or it could be both.

[sighs] The people here are so much more willing to believe strange things than home. If you prefer to interpret it that way, then I'm a hundred years old.
