Is anyone here willing to teach me magic?

((I suddenly developed a raging headache and am having a hard time focusing. Thanks for the threads; I'll pick up tomorrow!))

Why do you want to learn magic?

I don't expect every world to have witches. Or the same system of magic. Or even a similar system to magic if it came to that . . . But curses exist in your world.

Hmm... [considers] Not the type you're thinking of, I think. If they do exist, they're outside my experience.

I'm not sure if the magic from my world would apply either . . .

How does the magic in your world work? Mostly manipulation?

Mostly. Some people are born with the ability. Others can gain the ability over time. Wizards can actually measure magic.

Witches do magic largely by not doing much magic, if that makes any sense.

Not really.

It's because there's a price to pay for all magic. The more you use, the higher the bill in the end.

What kind of bill?

The kind that only the user can pay. And you often don't know until you've paid it.

I can see why witches don't use much magic, then.

That's why you've got to be sure that you want the magic.

[considers] It's a very human form of magic, isn't it?

Yes. It's easier to stay human like that, I think.
