Aw shucks, folks! Ain't it just a gosh-darned beautiful day? The wind's blowing in Marcy's tentacles, the toucans and the cows are a'lowing in the morning sun ... wouldn't today just be a great day for y'all to commune with nature?

[A CLUE: YOU ARE ALL NOW NAKED. Enjoy that.]

((YUP, IT'S JUST ABOUT NAKED DAY, FOLKS.))

[...INDEED. Flicks his eyes down and back up, because. Well. Naked day is sort of the least terrible thing that has happened lately SO WE'RE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE BRIGHT SIDE]

Good morning, Neji.

*...le sigh, but he's fairly used to Naked Day by now*

Good morning. You seem in better condition than the last time we spoke.

[Listen, you're pretty, okay]

Mm, Raphael came by and saw to me.

*not really going to try to argue, or hide anything other than his curse seal*

Ah. I suppose that would do it.

He seemed to think it would take me weeks to properly heal; at that point it seemed ridiculous to refuse his aid.

At least someone doesn't argue about taking care of himself, I suppose.

*also, it sounds like I overdid things a bit, oops*

[Huffs]

I am not so enamored of being useless and disabled as to refuse treatment on principle.

I did not meant to imply you were. It's an argument I've had with someone else recently.

But if you are on those terms with Raphael, you might as well take advantage of it.

Fair enough; I can think of a few people in particular who are strangely stubborn about it. For myself, I have spent much of my life with the understanding that I must do my utmost to make sure I absolutely do not die; accepting treatment when it's available is an important facet of that.

Perhaps it's a problem among ninjas. Unlike leaders, most of us get used to the idea that we're expendable in the end.

Not that it makes it less frustrating in others.

I am not endorsing it, but I know what we are raised with and how we're trained. In most circumstances, we're useful healthy. Sometimes, there are other priorities.

I understand instilling your soldiers with a sense of duty over personal safety, most assuredly, but "expendable", I think, is not the right attitude. I would expect any in my employ would quite readily give their life for the safety of Athlum and her people -- but that most certainly does not make them expendable. Quite the opposite, in fact.

I take it that Itachi has not discussed this with you.
