[out in the main cabin area, there is a Manikin! He's got a crate, with a tablecloth on top, and a number of things laid out on the tablecloth: a fork, a kind of battered-looking TV remote (batteries removed), an iron-prick spur, a 1 GB key drive, a toy soldier (chipped), a flashlight, a hurricane lantern ( Read more... )

Oh, hi again. Well, not much... This is something people use to eat with, and this can be used to send electrical signals to certain devices... This is used to hurt horses to make them run faster, and this can store data... this is a toy, and these two things are really different ways of casting light.

[poking at the fork] People use dis to eat with? Isn't it kinda small for dat?

Not at all. Because most, um, most people who aren't demons can only fit so much into their mouth at all, so they have to cut food into small pieces. The fork holds it in place while they put it into their mouth, and they can keep from getting their fingers dirty.

I haven't found a source to check the serial number, but if you've got double-A batteries, I don't mind if you want to check it on something.

The humans in my world... their technology... their interactions and day-to-day lives... one could write a multitude of books on the subject, and yet, to sum it all up in one word, I can only say that they are CORRUPT.

Really? Please tell me more!

There are exceptions to any rule, but on a whole the people are short-sighted, foolish, ignorant to the point of madness... they rely on masthead leaders and puppet governments, controlled and instituted by such immoral maneuvers as would offend even the basest senses of dignity...

Indeed, it would be difficult not to pity them all.

This is very interesting... So you pity them?

Hey, does that mean you're not a human? *looks unreasonably excited at the concept*

Oh, no. I just look sort of human. You're human, right?

[looks unreasonably excited at this concept.]

Yeah, I am! And I'll be happy to tell you everything about my world if you'll tell me about yours! If you're not human, then what are you? Alien? Demon? Cyborg?

I'm a Manikin. Oh, that probably doesn't explain anything... we're a people who were made out of mud then forced to serve demons. Please, tell me about yours!

Well, that's my hobby. I don't mind hearing other stuff, but...
