There's a social-networking search engine called Spokeo which collects information about your activity online without your permission (people have reported finding e-mail subject lines and Amazon.com payment history).

Here is a helpful post @ Dreamwidth about how to opt yourself out of it.

It always helps to check Snopes.

Yeah, somebody on my circle posted about how it's a glorified protection racket, since the company also sells the product that would wipe your profile. 'creating a demand for a product they are all too happy to supply', as she said :(b

Meh, had to fall for a spam trick once in my life, I suppose.

I already got sketch emails on my school account, I suppose :|
