eden of the east pimping
so I will try not to tl;dr like I did when I was fangirling over Panzer Dragoon Saga. ALSO the linked images may be nsfw for naked people. this show loves its naked people.
Eden of the East is your standard boy meets girl story. only the boy is an amnesiac and shows up totally nude, armed only with a handgun and a cell phone charged with more than 8 billion yen. also he may or may not actually be a terrorist. this is a terrible synopsis that really doesn't describe how amazing this canon is, even if there's only one camper-applicable character in the whole show. but everyone is awesome so that's good at least.
the guy Saki is :)-ing at is Takizawa-kun, the naked terrorist (???) who saves her from the D.C. police when she tries throwing a coin into the fountain in front of the white house. he makes amazing faces in the face of impeding death, beats up his magic cell phone because he can't do the same to the guy who gave it to him, and just charms the pants off of everyone. NO, LITERALLY. he persuades a businessman to take off his slacks and give them to him by flashing him. he also persuades a policewoman to let him off using the same method. and this is all in the very first episode of the show I don't even know. he's really cool, when he's not sneaking into the girls' restroom to ask for directions or re-enacting bizarre movie scenes like the fanboy he is... oh hell, he makes that stuff cool too. APP HIM and you could ride a giant teddy bear into camp. also you will have the cutest dog ever, bring him here toooo
going clockwise and starting from the bottom with the only camper-applicable character, Micchon is a hardcore programmer and awkwardly shy around strangers but a smartass with her friends. her cousin Hirasawa is a srs bsns dude who admits he's kinda a failboat compared to Micchon's and Saki's superior computer skills. Onee is the coolest big sister and worries over whether Takizawa-kun is wearing underwear or not. Kasuga is a perceptive guy who spends his time under a desk and possesses great insight on society and zombies. he's reluctantly taken out to dinner by Osugi, who is a bit of a kicked puppy and can occasionally be a dick but is still pretty cool and ultimately willing to run around naked in winter to traumatize for the sake of his friends... running around naked in winter is sorta a running theme for this show. app my partners in crime recycling!
Panties is a hacker who becomes a bit of a hikkomori and shuts himself in his flat after his last pair of pants blow away in the wind, no joke. he can write programs awesome enough to predict plot points and he has the magical ability to squeeze into sweatpants smaller than his head. his real name isn't really Panties but everyone calls him that. also he only spends almost all of his screen time in his underwear. APP HIMMM
Kuroha is the knockout president of a fashion company by day. by night she's in her spoilers spoilers-ing your spoilers. she's totally badass and utterly adorable at the same time and cigars are never just cigars around her and MAN I love her, she's awesome!... e-even if I'm not actually sure if she has enough canon to be apped. um
basically, this show is a drama/social commentary/action/romance/mystery/psychological (according to wikipedia?) amalgam with an occasionally questionable but solid enough plot and amazing characters that totally deserve to be at camp. you can watch/download Eden of the East on veoh and at the getfansub wiki and by joining edenoftheeast. idk when the next counselor round is coming but there's plenty of time until then, or a little less if someone wants to app Micchon (please do so, Saki would love to have her snarky deadpan codingbuddy girlfriend around so much). there are only 11 episodes, a perfectly manageable size, plus it is just a funny and charming show besides
70+ missiles and 20,000+ naked people and who knows how many bizarre penis jokes later there is also a movie (and another one coming out in january march) which I expect is just everyone being awesome redux! but it is only out in japan so it's kinda more inaccessible, which something I emo over every day. w/e man I can wait, probably
