Ziva's post inspired me:
Serious poll. Your character's kill count -- how big? None, one, single digits, tens, hundreds, OVER NINE THOUSAND? Is killing totally routine for them or does it tear them up? Discuss with the class.

His attitude on it is kinda strange. He doesn't like it but he's proud of it too. He also doesn't really try to avoid it and doesn't mourn at all for the people he's killed. So basically I guess routine and going afterwards, "Shucks I wish I didn't have to do that." Not that he'd ever admit it to anyone but his boy.
Peter: Easily hundreds. He's been around a long while. He forgets everyone that dies but he's proud of them if they were very hard.

Kino: Six on-screen!
Mac: People don't die in cartoon land!
Fujisaki: Do suicide attempts count?
Joshua: None if we don't count non-humans! Fifty on-screen if we do!

Usagi consistently gets distressed about killing humans in canon, even if they are with the enemy. If they aren't? She doesn't bat an eye. Double standard go!
Kino does get a little shaky afterwards, but she kills to protect her life so she sleeps easy at night.
Despite being a clone, Fujisaki would never kill. ...Maybe.
Joshua doesn't really bat an eye at killing. You have to do something for him to kill you, but given the right reason he will take anyone out.

Kagura has no kills.
Hitsugaya has. . . god, I don't know he's a DEATH GOD. He usually just helps the ones that are already dead. He killinates a hell of a lot of Hollows and a few Arrancar?
Suzaku has only one kill but it fucked him up good.

Absence of those two means that the only character of mine this applies to--PROBABLY (it's hard to be sure of anything with Asuna)--is Chao, and I'm not sure about her. She is definitely willing and capable, although she doesn't WANT to and it ends up not happening onscreen in canon. But I imagine it has happened in the past, in her homeland. Probably single digits . . . probably.
