Gauging interest goes here.

So, Tanabata's coming up here and I was thinking it might be fun to do something in camp, especially considering the huge number of campers that are from Japan. In case anyone doesn't know, Tanabata- July 7- celebrates the one day a year when Orihime and Hikoboshi, the star-crossed lovers of a famous Japanese tale, are allowed to meet. (More info here, including the story, if you're interested.)

One of the festivities involves writing a wish onto a long strip of paper and tying it to a piece of bamboo, whereupon it will supposedly be granted. And, though, obviously, wishes like "I wish I could get through the barrier," wouldn't work, I thought something on a smaller scale might be fun. So, just checking to see if there's any interest or opposition here- if camp were to, say, grow a small grove of bamboo for the day and grant modest wishes like "I wish I had a teddy bear," or "I wish so-and-so would stop emoing for a day," (with so-and-so's permission, of course), would anyone care to participate? ^_^

On a completely unrelated note, Janaff has a Quotes Meme now. ^^
