On Vox: Happy Autumn

Oct 04, 2008 11:32

It occurs to me I haven't really blogged in awhile, so it's time for another update.  The past few days have been lovely and cool (I actually got to wear sweaters, yay!) and fall-like.  At last!  Happy Autumn, everyone.

Last Monday (the 22nd, I think) was the autumnal equinox, and Ben and I decided to declare it a holiday.  We took the day off from ( Read more... )

oh! I'm converting one of my old livejournals from like 2004 into a bpal journal...(awww look at my friends-only banner hahahaha) http://cadaverella.livejournal.com Switch Witch sounds pretty fun! I love doing stuff like this, but sometimes I'm very forgetful.

I love etsy! Those necklaces are so nice too. Micheal's would probably have some clasp attaching materials, I hadn't been there in forever, though. The last person who did my hair had made some really pretty necklaces with materials she got solely from Micheal's. If you want to start using beads, Beadworks in Johnson City is a great place too. It's on main st like a few buildings down from the Hands On museum.

Oh cool! I should check both those stores. I went to Hobby Lobby last Friday and got a TON of ribbon and some clasps and such. I meant to stop by Michael's but forgot. Maybe I'll head over there this weekend.

Add me to your BPAL journal! :) Are you on the forum (http://bpal.org)? My username there is just cam.

Oh, and Switch Witch is so fun! There's a thread where everyone posts about what they get, and it seems like all the witches are super generous and thoughtful. There's no "you have to spend X dollars" requirement or anything, so a lot of people do handmade crafty stuff, homemade cookies and stuff like that. It's awesome.

In general, though, it's the best forum I've ever used. I haven't run across any real drama to speak of. People actually behave like grown-ups! LOL.

ooh, pretty. *sigh* I wish I had the time and motivation to make pretty things. Or, really, to do much of anything. House and kids are like a black hole for time and energy--whenever I'm free, I'm so tired I just want to cuddle up and read.

Maybe once this move is over....

*hugs*

By the way, there is an apple pie recipe on the above-linked recipe blog... to die for!

I've been looking for a U-Pick apple orchard out here (you know, WA being well-known for apples, and all.) Sadly, the nearest one I can find is a four-hour drive away and is only open from 5:30 PM until dark. Which is actually happening about 6 these days. I love apple pie; I have so many different recipes for yummy apple stuff. The one I really want to try is apple-stuffed pork chops. And I have this really *really* good recipe for German potato salad (which, now that I think about it, would not be harmed by the addition of finely chopped tart apples.)

Maybe now would be a good time for me to eat breakfast?
