I think you're most able to do God's work when you are happy. He calls you to work for him, not be a martyr for his every cause. And right now you're enabling yourself to do the former, I think.
Based on what I've gleaned from your last few entries, there are possibilities of you taking on some kind of crazy mix of archaeology and law to help Native communities in Canada... that's important work. That will lead you to see interesting places and meet great new people. That'll give you a solid job that could very possibly lead to vacation time and enough money to go see some places you've never seen (and bring along a man who adores you)... and starting a family doesn't prevent travel (ask Vro about her family's world travels!!)
None of this is selling out! From what I can tell, you are more satisfied with life than you've been in a long time, and that is something to celebrate. Something I think even God is celebrating with you...
