So I get that I still look plausibly young enough to need carding (I'm 29, almost 30).  That's fine.  In fact, it's a little bit of a compliment.  And I'm close enough that I expect to need it, though I don't always.  But squinting at my wife, and asking for her ID (after seeing my ID, which clearly states that I'm plenty old enough).  And needing

That's bizarre, but in line with my experiences at Winco and other big box stores. They have internal policies that have to be implemented network-wide, even if they make no sense at the local/"known regular" level and are not OLCC regulations.

(I am actually not sure what the OLCC regulations are regarding someone standing next to the person who is buying the alcohol, but I've heard about it affecting a number of people, including myself, from time to time.)
