That was kind of sad. The Pendragons were there because their father could not be bothered to be home and Merlin treated Arthur badly. Well done. You really captured how sometimes holidays could go wrong.

Wow, thanks! I really wasn't aiming to make the drabble sad--I was previously going to have it all be that Merlin and Arthur become good friends again and for Merlin to have a warm feeling in his heart but it all changed directions. Though I have to say I liked how it went. Thank you again!

Oh, that's sad. Holidays can be tough. I wonder if Uther will be home for Christmas.

Morgana and Hunnith joining forces in the kitchen was sweet.

Hopefully Uther will be home for the new years! I don't see him as being one to enjoy spending time with his family--it's more like a 'here's 100$ enjoy,' so I'd be able to see Arthur and Morgana turning into some kind of bad people due to it. I've always liked the fact of Morgana and Hunnith cooking in the same kitchen one day, it would have been highly interesting!

12 year old Mordred with curly bed hair does make for such a cute image =)

Tense atmosphere but I'm sure food makes everything better! Nice.

Yes Mordred was a nice addition to the drabble c: I'd think every family would have had at least one holiday with a tense atmosphere, and this one was it, even if half the guests weren't even family~ Thanks!

It amuses me that Merlin had this forced, awkward conversation in his jammies with bed head while the Thanksgiving Day Parade played on in the background. I wonder what was going through Arthur's head the whole time. I think my brain would have derailed at the image of 15 year old Merlin in a T-shirt and sleep pants and probably barefoot.

Arthur was probably marveling at how beautiful Merlin looked in that getup ;) Yeah it must've been really awkward for Merlin, and Arthur at the same time. Hopefully they can patch things up~

I already screamed about this on Tumblr but SWEET GOD I LOVE FICS WHERE MERLIN AND MORDRED ARE BROTHERS IT'S PERFECT LIKE YES GOOD THINGS

Oh no, this isn't warm feeling at all ;A; At least the food was, though. Ugh, part of me wants to punch Arthur in his stupid posh face, just because WOW THAT WASN'T A NICE THING TO SAY YOU JERK. Merlin probably gets teased about his sexuality anyway, and then having someone you knew from your past making fun of you about it? That's rough.

But this was good all the same, though. I like how it shows that family gathers aren't necessarily always happy, and you can see how the Pendragons are a little worse for wear when it comes to expressing themselves, and having family time. If I didn't know any better I would say the sibling were jealous of the family dynamic Merlin, Mordred, and Hunith have.

Lovely job all the same, great job with this!

yES MERLIN AND MORDRED AS BROTHERS IS PERFECT But yeah at least there was food to cheer everyone up! It seems more fitting for Arthur to be like that though, when you think about his homelife and possible friends. He'd be a bit closeminded about things. Poor Merlin :c At least Morgana would have been a bit jealous, especially with Merlin having a Mom. If Morgana had a mother I'd like to imagine her spending a lot of time with her and Arthur together. Thanks!!
