Author's Notes: Yeah it's not even Thanksgiving yet but I just can't wait for it because of FOOD and then that kind of warm feeling you always get around that feeling. I was taking this drabble into a certain direction but I was writing it kind of late and turned it all around...enjoy!

"Merlin, wake up sweetie!" Merlin heard someone speak to him and he opened his eyes, only to find Hunith standing over him with a small smile on her face.

"Come on, we're having company over in a few minutes."

"Nnngh..." Merlin yawned, "Who's coming?"

"Arthur and his sister, Morgana. Don't you remember them? The sweet kids that I babysat all the time when you were little? It's been so long...now they're grown up now, about your age," Hunith said, "Now get up. The parade's about to start. Wake up your brother too, will you?" With that said, Hun ith stepped out of Merlin's room and headed downstairs.

"Merlin sat up, rubbing his eyes and stretching afterwards. He had forgotten it was Thanksgiving day, and only faintly remembered Hunith mentioning that Pendragon kids coming over. something about Uther being on an important business trip...he doubted the family ever spent any real time together.

Slipping on some pajama bottoms and a tshirt, Merlin made his way downstairs, banging on Mordred's door. "Mordred the parade is about to start!" He shouted.

Wonderful smells seemed to flood throughout the house and Merlin smiled, just now noticing them, "Have you already started cooking, mum?"

"Only the Turkey, I'm going to start everything else in a few minutes. Would you like to help, Morgana?"

Merlin realized that the Pendragons were here and felt his heartbeat speed up a bit. He remembered the days he used to spend with them when he was about 6--had even grown close, as having a 3 year old Mordred around at the time wasn't exactly fun. Now Merlin wondered if the lot had changed at allk, or if they'd still be able to pick up conversation as if they never stopped seeing each other for 9 years.

Arthur and Morgana soon came into view, standing in the living room. "I'd be delighted to help cook," Morgana said with a smile, "Though I don't believe I've ever cooked, so I wouldn't be much help..."

"Oh don't be silly, I can teach you! It'll be fun," Hunith offered, "Just let me check the turkey and I'll get you in a minute. You three can catch up in the meantime."

Arthur and Morgana both turned their heads in Merlin's direction as Hunith left. Merlin realized that he must have a bedhead, and felt the need to go to the nearest mirror and fix it.

"You're up late," Morgana remarked.

"Not really. You're just up early." Merlin said. Morgana didn't really look different than he remmebered, and neither did Arthur.

Morgana's black hair had gotten longer, and she had definitely gotten taller. She wore jeans and a hoodie, and Merlin noticed that she was wearing glasses, remembering how she often read in the dark as a child. Probably stressed out her eyesight or something.

Arthur had also become taller, and had a more muscular build. His bright blue eyes were menacing as usual, and he wore a slight frown on his face. His attire had consisted of jeans and a tshirt.

"Well, 9 years has definitely been a while," Morgana said, obviously trying to break away in awkwardness between everybody, "How old is Mordred now?" Morgana sat down on the small burgundy couch that stood in front of the Telivision, which showed two news reported in front of a giant crowd of people.

"He's 12 now," Merlin said. He and Arthur were still standing up, and Merlin noticed that Arthur as staring at Merlin with a certain look on his face. Merlin couldn't tell if it was disgust or what, and he couldn't be bothered with looking back at Arthur.

"Hmph. He's not going to be a cute toddler to play with anymore." Morgana rested her chin into her palms.

Merlin got tired of standing and decided to sit down next to Morgana. Arthur chose to sit crosslegged on the rug that was spread out across the floor. Everyone faced the TV, for the balloons started to roll in and music started to play.

Soon Mordred came down, also in his pajamas. His hair was a curly wreck. He plopped himself in the spot next to Merlin, ignoring Arthur and Morgana. Merlin guessed that Mordred couldn't remember the two being over so often in the past.

Just as Mordred settled in, Hunith called, "Alright, I'm ready for some help in here!"

Morgana stood up and walked towards the kitchen, and Mordred immediately bounced back up, eager to help cook. Merlin didn't fancy with helping out. He'd rather eat the food, and guessed that he'd probably end up eating half the ingredients if he stepped foot into that kitchen.

A few minutes of silence passed as Merlin and Arthur watched the television. Hunith was heard over the soft drone of the TV, and Merlin started to feel himself getting a bit colder. He had forgotten that temperatures were supposed to be rather chilly in November. He grabbed one of the blankets and drew it across his shoulders.

"You sure are more quiet than you used to be," Merlin stated.

Arthur turned around, looking at Merlin. "Just thinking."

"Can't remember a time of when you used to think properly," Merlin said, "...do you two still go to school here? I haven't seen you guys around at all."

"Just have different classes, I guess," Arthur answered.

"Hm, thought you would've gone to a private school. It's right up your league for snooty people," Merlin teased.

"Shut up, Merlin."

"Gee, you used to be nicer, too. Funny thing, we never did keep in touch after mum stopped babysitting you guys," Merlin said, "Considered us to be best friends."

"Things happen."

"Or maybe you just don't feel like being friends again," Merlin sneered, "What, have you been hearing rumors about me? Didn't think I was that well=known around here."

Arthur paused for a minute, "Word's around that you...fancy men."

"Oh, yeah. Sorry Arthur, forgot to ring you up last night. 'Hey, buddy! Guess what, I'm gay!' Didn't think that that was going to be what I was well known for," Merlin said, "What, have something wrong with it? Doesn't mean I want to fuck every guy I see, y'know."

"It's just...weird."

"Not really."

Arthur turned back to the TV and Merlin's brow furrowed. No wonder they hadn't remained friends. He thought he remembered them being close and very similar, but he supposed that they grew different over the years. It was a bit sad to Merlin.

For the rest of the time Merlin focused on the parade, having given up on any attempt to patch up his friendship with Arthur and Morgana. Instead, he focused on the delicious scents that roamed around the house. His stomach growled.

Soon Hunith gathered everyone for dinner, a big smile plastered onto her face. She was excited to eat, for all the food actually looked edible for once. Merlin sat down and stared at his plate, which contained shining cut turkey, stuffing, green-bean casserole, and buttered rolls that sat to the side.

Just one bite filled him with warmth and Merlin moaned with delight. "This tastes fantastic, mum."

"It does now, doesn't it?"

Everybody continued to eat and even went to get seconds.
