Ohhhh my god. This was such an amazing, heartbreaking piece. In so few words, you've managed to tear my heart out unequivocally, and then stomp on it ow ow ow. I can vividly hear those footsteps, those knells, and see Arthur walking away in a corridor, the distance increasing between them. Beautiful work <3

This is amazing - hit me right in the feels. That ending especially, the way Arthur can't look at Merlin but is still begging him to save himself...damn. So good.

Oh, ty. I was worried it wouldn't be clear that Merlin could basically just walk out any time he wanted. I've often wondered whether Merlin would allow himself to be executed in order to prove his loyalty...
