So I have been toying with the idea of adopting a stray cat. It has been a decision I have been mulling over for the last 3 years in fact

Aww what a gorgeous kitty! She's less than 2 months old? Very likely is she has to be taught where to go. When I got Rupert, he was box-trained because he learnt from his mom and I only got him when he was 8 weeks. So give it time. They're quick learners and very clean so you should have less issues as compared to puppies

She's less than 2 months. Only a few weeks old. I think her previous owners made her go on a pile of newspapers, hence no potty training. I have her confined to my computer room unless we are around, then we let her out. She can barely walk straight so I don't want her to get lost somewhere.
Oh wow that is very young. No wonder she needs to be shown where to go. And keep her to one room and slowly introduce her around, you definitely don't need to have her lost under furniture. She'll be fine anyways. Rupert spent most of his first 2 months with us in our bedroom (mainly cos we didn't have our own house then).
if you can, stick with the dry food - ever since I got my kitties I have been able to leave out a bowl of dry food for them all the time and free feeding is just so much easier :) They've never had wet food and so I don't get that morning "FEED ME MOM FEED ME FEED ME" thing. And keep an eye - I thought mine had the idea of the litterbox and then realised they were using the bottom two of my son's clothes bins. Allllllll his pants and long sleeved shirts were nasty nasty nasty. So I just washed the hell out of everything and laid tin foil over everything and they stayed out of the bins.
I'm trying to get her to eat dry food (I even added some warm water to soften it) but she didn't even go near the bowl.
I'm worried about leaving her alone at home when we go to work on Monday because she will be alone all day. I'm gonna feed her and help her get to the litter before I leave, but I'm worried about the fact that she will be in my computer room. She hasn't tried doing it (that I'm aware of) but I'm worried she'll bite the wires.
well you can always just leave it out and see if she explores it once she's full.
I would definitely make sure she's got litter and water, maybe even dry food (and her little sleep blanket, that is so aww!) with her when she's left alone - is there any way to leave her in the bathroom so that if she has an accident it'll be easier to clean up? They're usually happier in smaller spaces when they're little and everything is unfamiliar, too.
