I spent the whole morning defrosting the freezer and exhausted myself. Never again. I’ll either bite the bullet and buy a frost-free freezer or get someone to do the job for me

Well, I am old enough to remember those tennis things too. And you know, I am an American and never realized the significance of Arthur Ashe beating Jimmy Connors until I read Arthur Ashe's autobiography (which I highly recommend.) Jimmy Connors was a great tennis player, but IRL he was an ass. He also wrote an autobiography and was taken to task by an NPR commentator for mentioning that Chris Evert was pregnant with his child and aborted it. Yeah, I know, personal stuff.
As for Mr. McEnroe and Mr. Borg, some of the best tennis I ever saw played was played by those two. And they are friends now, their families vacation together. I was lucky enough to see them play an exhibition match in person. Bjorn Borg had the best posterior in tennis or anywhere else.
How nice that we can share these memories! I never liked Connors, which is why I was so glad he lost that match. Lucky you, to have seen Borg and McEnroe play. Borg certainly was a heartthrob, back in the day. I'm glad he seems to have overcome his demons and is friends with Mac

I always wanted to attend Wimbledon just to say I did. SUCOL has a Law in London program and several of the students who attended made it a point to go to Wimbledon (and tell me about it). I remember Yvonne. I remember the year Andre Agassi won Wimbledon and I cried. The networks used to show it here, they don't anymore but you made me remember some amazing moments.
What a miserable job defrosting a freezer is. The best way for me to do it is to keep putting bowls of hot water inside as it tends to melt the ice quickly. I only have a small freezer now so it's not much of a task to defrost it.
That was a golden age of tennis wasn't it? So many fantastic finals and memories. It's interesting to see them now and how they have changed since playing when they were young.

I still think so. I think wooden rackets and the serve and volley game rather than just pounding from the baseline made it more interesting.
