Note: It's been 2 1/2 weeks since I stopped taking antidepressants. I thought I was doing well, but I am feeling the withdrawals today. I liken it to shivering on the inside. It's a very strange feeling. Weird balance and perception issues - such as I turn my head but it seems like it takes a few seconds for the rest of me to catch up. Kinda like ( Read more... )

I was forbidden sugar and dairy as well. I decided I would try to cut out one at a time. Right now I'm trying to cut out sugar (and failing miserably for the most part). However, I have started using blue agave nectar for my oatmeal instead of brown sugar, and it tastes OK. I got it at Trader Joe's.

Dairy is proving to be much more difficult, as soy milk is just ick, and who can live without cheese? But I am determined that eventually, I will do it.

Good luck to you! I was on Prozac for a short time and hated it, and the withdrawal from it was even worse.

This is going to be hard. But I figure I'll give it a shot and once I'm eating healthy, I can have a treat now and then. My habit now is to eat crappy and treat myself.

And I know it'll be better for me in the long run.

I've already started! I did have iced tea this morning, but only put TWO tablespoons of sugar in it instead of four. See? Progress. (Hey, I'm Southern, she just doesn't understand.)

I slowly cut out sugar from my tea as well. I went from 2 packets of Sugar in the Raw to 1. And now I have twice as much tea with still just the 1 packet. For ice tea I just add 2 squeezed lemon slices, no sugar anymore. Now anything with more sugar than that is too much. Once in a while I'll have a Pepsi, but once a week AT MOST.
