Might anyone know how to get through our now paranoid airport security w/a carryon that has some of gothic fashion's more.. industrial ornamentations?  I've got a chain belt and some other non-knifey, nonthreatening but still hardwarish-kinds of accessories I'd -love- to take w/me on a flight, but I don't want to have it all pulled out of my ( Read more... )

The prohibitions and problems come from people wanting to bring them in the main passenger area of the plane, so... stick all questionable items in your luggage and check it instead of carrying it on. There is a 3oz limitation, which is lame, but again, bag it in a ziplock bag in case it leaks, and stick it in your luggage.

If it makes you feel better about all your stuff getting to your destination, include a packing list in your luggage listing all its contents.

just check it under. i don't know if they are still psycho about the liquid thing, but if you need hair spray and stuff like that and are worried about it, just buy it when you get there. walmart has a very fun travel/trial section. i like to play there. :)

as for your gothy wardrobe, if you check it under, there should be no problems at all.

having gone through this when we went to Midwinter...
Don't even try to take anything over 3oz. It WILL be confiscated, I promise. They confiscated Megs lotion that was in her carryon.
Anything that will appear to be a weapon, will be confiscated.
Spikes will be a big no no

Honestly, you are better packing a suitcase and checking the bag...not takign it as carryon. The stuff you want to bring they probably wont allow in carry on luggage...
