So my aunt was jsut diagnosed with lung cancer.  It's already spread to her liver as well.  she had an mri yesterday to see if it's in her brain.  that will decide if she can take chemo.  radiation is out because it spread.

and my next door neightbor from back home died a few days ago.

do you think i'll ever make it through a year without something

Is it horrible of me to just want it to pile up and happen all at once? If people would only die in like February, you could deal with it and get on. Instead you get smacked in October, smacked a week later and when you think it's all going to be ok for a while, you get bammed upside the head from the other direction.
