dramas, mangas, and rain, oh my!

May 22, 2008 17:51

Fact: it is raining right now in Southern California, and looks like it will rain through Memorial Day weekend. I think this is EXCELLENT. Because I was getting tired of the freak heatwaves.

Plus, I just got a huge box from RightStuf and I'm still not done with my order from JustManga.com so I have a looooot to keep me occupied this weekend.

List of Manga to read/re-read )

kdrama, manga, tomohisa yamashita, jdramas

OH LJ YOU FAIL. And you are going on your super sekrit getaway trip so who am I going to bother with my kdrama enquiries?

1) Like, where do I get Magic subbed? I hope it does not rhyme with "clubbox."

2) OMG, KANG DONG WON, ILU SO.

Anyway, enjoy your trip, and happy early birthday! :D

Just a little drive by Skip Beat squee because I just started it a couple months ago. I'm on volume 5 now and I looooooove. I wish it had better covers and a better blurb because if they had given me some hint of how twistedly awesome and angry and filled with vengeance Kyoko is I would have picked it up a long time ago.

plus, the mangaka's other title? calledinvain May 23 2008, 23:48:23 UTC
Tokyo Crazy Paradise about a female bodyguard on the mean streets of a very different Tokyo? SOUNDS EXACTLY LIKE SOMETHING I WOULD LOVE. License it, VIZ. LICENSE IT NOW.

Yeah, you have to get past the strange looking covers - Nakamura's drawing style is a very different shojo archetype from the usual stuff I read, it reminds me more of 80s manga, but the writing, and Kyoko herself? So made of love and awesome and VENGEANCE. I'm surprised I didn't tell you about it! Oh well, bad saff, no biscuit!

And I'm marathoning Princess Tutu this weekend.

I'm surprised I didn't tell you about it!

Oh, I'm sure you did! I remember both you and anenko talking about it being awesome, but then I'd pick it up and look at the cover and it looked so SWEET. Hee. At least I finally caught on!

[[[[PRINCESS TUTU!!!!]]]] That reminds me I never watched the dubs on the last 6 or so episodes. Must rectify at some point since it's a good dub job for once. Besides, I have a severe lack of Neko-Sensei in my life at the moment. *G*

I <3 Neko-sensei so much. It's wrong, but I don't want to be right.
