It was already two years, after Taemin’s death. That fateful incident has been slowly washed away in people’s mind by the time. But Minho remembered it, as if it happened only yesterday. He never blamed anyone for his death, he only blamed himself. These two years, he wasted his life being a loner. He was now in his senior years in the high school. Just another year, he would be able to graduate.
Sometimes he wanted to leave this country, because everywhere he goes it seemed to him that he would be able to sense that someone’s presence. As if he is just hiding somewhere in the corner away from his sight. Minho has rejected countless girls’ confession, just to keep his heart forever filled for a person called Lee Taemin.
Every he would stay at home to remind himself his existence, how he once existed in his life, how he once filled up his life with bliss…
Like other days, Minho shut himself in his own room, doing research on projects. Even though he had finished his own part, he would keep editing it until it becomes perfect. Jonghyun couldn’t bear to see Minho losing touched to the outside world, he has to take Minho out no matter what.
“Hey Minho… Do you want to hang out?” He peeked into his room; Minho was sitting in front of the computer typing and editing his project.
“Hyung, I’m busy.”
“Come on Minho…” Minho stopped his work and turned to look at his hyung.
“Don’t bother wasting your time on me, go and spend this time with Key hyung.” Jonghyun actually wanted to spend time with his dearest Key, but Key has said that if he failed to get Minho out, he can forget spending time with him.
“Minho, do you remember you promise Taemin once to watch the annual dance competition? You missed it last two years… Shouldn’t you keep to your promise and at least watch at least once?” Jonghyun looked at Minho who was now a little hesitant.
“Alright. I’ll go.” Jonghyun excused himself to let Minho change his clothes before both of them made their way to the theater.
It was as usual, a lot of people came to support their friends or family members who are here for the competition, Minho and Jonghyun just took a seat that was just a few rows away from the stage.
Soon the competition started, each competitor went up individually to showcase their own talent. If Taemin was still alive, the reason to be here would be a lot different. How he would cheer for Taemin before he went on stage, how he would hug the little guy to calm him down…
It’s all just his wishful thinking… He will never be back.
The last name announced was a little unique which caught Minho’s attention… Lucifer… Such a devilish name… There was a lady; wearing black hoodie jacket that hung over her shoulder and a white sleeveless top that was under the jacket. Her long camel hair that was tuck out of the hoodie somehow attracted the tall boy’s attention. It seemed as if he has some kind of power, a power to make herself in the limelight.
How she did her dance, it was powerful but somehow similar. But who? Taemin… The name of the person that he had missed a lot during these two years. Her jacket fall off from his shoulder due to the big movement he did with his hands, it revealed his milky white shoulder and her true identity.
She was a guy. It was only when the end of the dance where he finally showed his face that was originally hiding under his bangs. It made Minho and Jonghyun flabbergasted. How was it able for someone to look exactly like someone else?
“Taemin…” Minho managed to mutter, his eyes never left the figure that was getting down the stage. His legs sent him running to the backstage to meet that person, but he was held back by Jonghyun.
“Minho, he’s not Taemin.” Jonghyun knows Minho would surely lose his cool whenever it’s about Taemin.
“He looked exactly like him!”
“Like you said, he look LIKE him, it’s not him. Minho don’t you remember that you were the one who watch him die?”
“Could you let me kiss you again? For the last time? Let me feel like it was before?” Minho leaned in to touch Taemin’s lips; the feeling was the same like before… A tear stream down his angelic face…
“Merry Christmas, Taemin… ” The older boy saw a peaceful smile on the younger boy’s face, this time round, no doubt about it… Taemin was really smiling… Minho moved his finger to the switch, with a click, the machine was off and everything has reach to an end…
“Minho, get a grip of yourself.” Minho knows whatever Jonghyun said has his point and reason. He sat back to his original seat and waited patiently for them to announce the winner” The third place and the second place was announced, it wasn’t that Lucifer guy.
“The winner is, Lucifer.” Their eyes seemed as if they were glued on him, move as he walked up to the stage to get his award. Minho was right, ignoring the makeup and the hair, he did look like Taemin.
“Oh my god, Minho!” Minho used this chance to run to the backstage to stalk the beautiful boy.
He managed to find the look-alike Taemin boy. He was standing with some of the senior who ruffled his hair as they congratulate him. Minho wasn’t himself, he lost the ability to calm down and think. Without a moment of hesitation, he hugged the small figure tightly in his arms…
“Taemin… You’re back… You are finally... Back…” Minho muttered softly in the young boy’s ear. The dancer didn’t accept the hug at all, he used all his might to push Minho away but to no avail. Minho’s determination was way greater than his strength… His thought of Taemin back in his arms was giving him strength not to let go.
Jonghyun couldn’t let his poor old friend to be mistaken as some kind of lecher, he quickly grabbed Minho by the neck and dragged him away.
“I’m sorry, he mistook you as… his friend that went oversea.” Jonghyun apologized while covering Minho’s mouth, preventing him from making a scene in the hallway.
“Jonghyun hyung! What the hell are you doing! Can’t you fucking see that he is Taemin?” Jonghyun pushed him to the wall and shouted at him.
“Stop it Minho! I had enough of your antisocial attitude. Can’t you see that everyone is worried about you? And I know he look like Taemin. But he is not! Get that fact into that stupid brain of yours! HE IS DEAD! He is never ever coming back in your life.” Jonghyun let out all his frustration before he quiets down at the other side of the corridor.
Minho slide along the cold white wall, tears were flowing once again. He just wished sometime the one who is dead would be him and not Taemin. Then he wouldn’t have to learn to forgot and move on… That day memories have deeply embedded into his heart and into his mind. There is no way he could erase that day…
“I am coming home now…” I hung up the phone. I excused myself, my friend knew what had happened to Taemin and he allowed me to go off. Thank god… The moment I was out and standing along the curb… A loud screech caught my attention… I took move forward slowly… A crystal which was shaped like an angel rolled to my shoes…
I looked up at the scene in front of my eyes… Blood streamed down from his body and onto the rough road. A beautiful angelic smile formed on his face…
He hugged his own legs and buried his head between his knees. All he wanted is to just feel that warmth that Taemin gave when he was alive… Be it before or after that painful incident…
To him, it is still his beloved Lee Taemin.

By that time I would finish Love in a simple way before doing this as a Christmas fic once again :D
